Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the main differences between the two and also which you prefer? I'm going to buy one soon. Trialed them both a while ago but then ended up getting pretty busy for the month and didn't get as much use as I hoped.

Thanks!

Polystep is scale aware, which is a big +
Polystep is much more powerful to my taste

Everything's scale aware if you stick a Scales & Chords after it - unless I'm missing something?

Agreed!

From what I can tell, PolyStep has the variations, the arp/strum component, and the chord builder. Sequences has the tie for the cool portamento/legato effects, more steps per pattern, the stepped playback for use with something like euclidean rhythms which I already have, and I'm sure some other things I'm not seeing at first glance, but those look to be the key pieces to make a decision from.

i find sequences more efficient and quick to get ideas out and that polystep encourages greater creativity

I forgot PolyStep was included in 11 Suite so that takes care of that, will have to see if I need to pick up Sequences later.

32 steps vs 16 :)
Actually it's 32 vs. 64, because each pattern in PolyStep has 4 variations that you can chain together for a total of 64 steps :P
