Superb work as always from Robotic Bean. This is by far my favourite of the Player plugins. I've used it in practically every project I boot up over the past week or two, and it has become my go-to device for laying down drum loops (far more so than Props own Drum Sequencer, because it's so much more fun to 'finger-drum' everything in, safe in the knowledge that 'Sequences' will straighten out any of my quantization errors on-the-fly.)

I would, however, like to echo what several other people have said: I'd absolutely LOVE IT if we had the option of 64 step patterns, rather than the current 32.

Also, the ability to overdub additional notes onto an existing pattern would be massively useful. (I appreciate that you can pencil in the extra notes, but I much prefer 'playing' the notes rather than using the mouse.)

But, yes - even without any further tweaking, it's a fantastic product. I'm truly impressed, and I can't express how much of a difference it has made to my workflow in the past few days. It really encourages experimentation.

Hi, is it better than using Reason main sequencer quantize option?

I am a terrible drum finger player...

Yep, its good for live playing for fast record some layers for one stack. And we have this mode in Reason sequencer for many years. But there was no overwrite mode of notes either. It would be convenient to record midi on the fly from other players like QNG. And save favorite take. Like retrospective recording in other DAW.

I'm still thinking about getting this RE or not before the sale ends, but still can't see what it can do that I can't do already in the main sequencer, so now I have these questions that could help me decide, maybe this has been asked before but I couldn't find it:

- Can I use key switches to trigger the player at a desired point using my keyboard or notes in the main sequencer? And if I can, can I also assign different patterns to different keys to use these in real time while writing songs?

Thanks, I guess this is a yes but just for my first question, right?

Yes, if I understood the question correctly.
Play after press any key note. From start of sequence (retrig mode) or from run position (retrig off)

I am also joining the crowd and support the feature request for ability to save and load patches from this player. Would make life easier for a lot of people!
Due to overwhelming demand, a patch browser is 100% likely to happen in the next feature update. :)

Anyway, the best way is to try it yourself. :)

Actually I have the demo since days but haven't had time to test it as much as I would have liked, and as the sale is ending in three days I decided to ask for these features to take my final decision :)

Probability and the possibility to reduce the length of individual notes would be my requests!

Probability is realized by other Players by filtering or am i wrong?

This. Or at least 2+ CV/curve sequences per pattern (like in Step II) that we could wire up to Length CV on the back :)

One of those two is already being worked upon. 😀

Looks like i get more and more close to the point, where i can "modulate" a melodie to introduce slight variations in Velocity, Length and hopefully playstart. Add some filtering, repeating and probability and stuff... Now i add some modulation to pitch and stuff and i have a endless way to introduce slight variations of a static melody. I like dat...👍

Yep, bought it too. Awesome player.
Maybe i'll pick up Euclidian still during the next 2 days.. Hmmz :P

I suggested the idea of probability for Quad Note Generator, but using your own musical ideas as a seed. It would be nice to keep this in mind if you could, with % of variation. Nothing too much in depth. You could make another separate Player dedicated just for this task with way more options.
The prospect of this development helped me purchase Sequences. Great tool. Thank you.

I can recommend it. These days I digged a little bit deeper into this device and found that you can also use it - beside its main purpose for euclidean rhythms - as a normal step sequencer by setting "forced" steps which are unaffected by the euclidean algorithm. That´s pretty cool. Compared to PSQ-1684 it´s not that sophisticated and flexible but easier to access because of its graphical representation. And then stack it easily together with "Sequences" player as a note generator and there you go :-)
