I'm happy with my GQ-7. Also good for fast modulation of the EQ/Filters in case you need to. It is now actually built into Dune 3.

I say GQ-7 too.
A good thing to know is that it's included in the Synapse RE Collection and the Mix & Mastering Rig 3. Sometimes you can get some ridiculous prices on those during sales. If I remember correctly the Synapse Collection (which has some amazing stuff) went for just 99 bucks at one point, which is what GQ-7 costs alone at normal price.

May madness right around the corner. GQ-7 was deeply discounted then I believe. I have Selig's Coloring EQ and think it's great.
How much did it go down to ? Coz its mega pricey at the moment for an eq , i like the look of papens eq but wouldnt pay £62 maybe £30
No, not really. I just have seen similar EQs which cost more and were not that flexible. The price is ok, but i did not had bought it for that price, because i already own so many other EQs. I got it 50% off. I would not count on a sale so soon again, because Selig does not make sales so often, just here and there...

Seligs Coloring EQ has a few very good features imo:
1. Flexible saturation on EQ curve with adjustable gain. This allows to saturate a specific peak to tame it or make it more decay. Very good, but not obvious to everyone
2. The note-snapping for the frequencey, which makes it easy to catch the sweet spots.
3. A quite nice vriation of EQ curves
4. Can be controlled via notes, which makes it a very good and flexible filter/EQ
And i agree, as long as you do not need that or understand what it means, stick with the EQs you have and learn how they sound and what you want to do and how you get there.

There are some nice REs there, I personally prefer using iZotope Ozone and Neutrum for these matters though. Got the elements version of both of them recently for no money, and the full version is now on sale, but still quite expensive for me
