No video again. Seems to be a common trend now that. Irritating. Not at home atm so can't trial it but would also like to see it working in a video first to see if I want to trial it.

Yep. Me too. For all their REs (I’ve bought most of them). Would just like to see what they do with them themselves.

Yeah it's like would you go to see a movie you hadn't seen the trailer to first, of course not.

Well, and I know you know, we do have the opportunity to try them out ourselves. Thing is it would be nice to see what they had in mind when they developed it as a starting point for experimentation.

Nothing too deep, but small video is welcome. I will never click on a user's manual link.

I'm just testing. Very cool, easy to use extension. You can connect it to Kong to write rhythms. In the x-axis of the trackpad, we set the resolution of the strokes for different areas. The Y axis is responsible for the impact force.
I recommend joining this extension to kong. Then choose the note - Kong sound (note out) that you want to control. Now set Direct Record to on. Turn on recording and play with the mouse on the trackpad to get different rhythms for our (selected) sound. You can release and press the mouse button and change the position of the pointer. Try different presets. It is a pity that you can not see how individual patterns look for the X axis. Interesting, creative device. After recording to the sequencer, you can modify or move the rhythms. Something similar (the impact trigger on the touch panel) was once in Korg Electribe EMX1.
Cool extension. For the price, they buy for me.

Retouch Control REs are really good price wise. Any similarities to Euclidean?

NoteRepeat releases notes like euclidean, but they work differently. Euclidean calculates when the note is to be released on the principle of mathematical formulas. NoteRepeat releases the notes on the principle of an adjustable straight grid with different divisions. This will be good for example for the species hats in Trap. It can be said that it is an arpeggiator for one note, with a change in resolution and impact force in flight - live.

I not tried device yet, but frankly feel doubts a bit in available result when see devices with such field for control by mouse. Perhaps, it is oriented for live purposes ? (Or just for fun)
Or do really such approach of mouse gestures has some benefit ?

Am I nuts or are there no CV in's for the XY... I'm probably just nuts but I'm playing with it right now trying to do it with a Pulsar.

use a combinator to assign cv inputs to the x and y values and dont forget about the repeat on value

also automatable from the sequencer

Yeah, would make sense if you press a keyboard key and trigger 1/32, 1/16T whatever lane/repeats, and not having to use the mouse. Your know MPC or Machine style.

You could do this if you map the keyboard to a CV and route it via a Combinator. But i agree, this could be quite interesting for a jam session to experiment.

Just noticed that there IS a CV OUT

This allows to control external devices regarding the defined X/Y position. Did not tried, if it also sends out, if it is disabled. If this works, you have a X/Y pad for free.

Set a bitcrusher to get progressively more nuts as the repeats get faster :D

This is linke Buffre, or similar beat repeaters but the other way around. This repeats, and stutters the trigger. Very cool.

Does anyone have it yet?
Can you tell me if it is possible to automate the on/off button exactly on the beat or whether you have to trigger the on/off a little ahead of time like the built-in players? Because that drives me nuts...

this is a pattern trigger device so with one of its 8 inbuilt patterns they play when triggered as expected. but it also accepts EXTernal pattern in so i just quickly tested a custom pattern taking the cv out from a ReDrum and automating the Repeat On using the Reason sequencer.

there was no delay the drum cv trigger passed through just fine

knocked made up a quick .cmb to use NoteRepeat via the Vectorizer by Quadelectra as a fun example
it also has two RND players and a scales and chords to walk the notes around

https://www.dropbox.com/s/imdtrlmp4q2wr ... s.cmb?dl=0

Edit: it just occurred to me that because this is just a .cmb file you have to manually set the Static Value for Repeat On in the sequencer
  • right click on the Note Repeat select 'create track for NoteRepeat' and select/highlight the track
  • in the 'Track Parameter Automation' menu select Repeat On
  • double click in the lane to create a box, double click on the box to open the box for editing ignore the box
  • toggle the Static Value from Off to On
it is possible all that clicking to change one value really sucks the fun out of this example sorry

Despite trying to kerb my RE/ Refill purchases I know I’m going to buy this anyway just ‘cos it’s “only” €9. Same with Marco Raaphorst’s 80s Refill. Oh well :) :) :).
