Does ToneRows do the same as TM-1?

Just been looking at a couple of REs by Retouch Control. Am I thinking correctly that by connecting say Propulsion’s gate outs to ToneRows and then ToneRows to say an nn-xt, then assigning notes to each of the slots that it does pretty much the same thing as using Multiplexer? With the added benefit of having 8 different definable patterns to trigger different drums/ notes. Just want to make sure I’ve not misunderstood. Thanks. .

Edit: Never mind. I just wrote to them and they were very helpful. Apparently it does exactly that so instant purchase.
