I'm happy to have both, as the originals didn't have a full envelope, but excelled at percussive sounds, whereas the second set can make pads and leads well. Also, the SIV is a great synth for clicks and pops. Also can be modulated to make an amazing amount of other sounds.

Yeah, probably my opinion is tainted from trying to do a piece for competition and failing to really get any usable "main" sounds from them (for me, at least), but they're indeed great for all those auxiliary stuff, to fill out the space around main elements I guess.
