Saw it, bought it. Works exactly as I hoped it would. A really nice tape deck emulator that can go low-fidelity or high-fidelity, and doesn't get as nuts as CrapRe. Warm, but not overly warm. Distorts but not insanely. Wobbles but you have good control over how much. Subtle noise, even on high, the levels have to be boosted to get it to really be in the super lo-fi. Has a Marantz field recorder-esque sound to it. These details are important to me, because I don't want to go overboard with the cassette sound anymore. I love it.

Nice!! I have the VST version and it's great. Klevgrand makes really cool stuff.

Oh...that is surprising...Klevgränd? They make those fancy looking synths, which are on my list to try: https://store.klevgrand.se/de/item/kanvas-synth-bundle

I like devices that make my stuff sound old and dirty. Gotta check this thing out. I know that cassette decks did not had CV input, but i would have been glad if this device would have a view.

It would be cool 🙂 I could hear it on the wobble effect for making a gentle off-tempo pitch shift with a smoothed S&H, but I don't know if that would affect the REs effect on actual speed. I'm happy with the way it is, as it's accurate in what it does, but yeah, it would be fun with CV.

It's always great to see an established developer offer a new RE. This looks very tempting.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

I demo'd their electric piano a while ago and it kept crashing Reason so I never revisited them. Glad to see a new RE dev though, so I'll have a look!

PS: I'm also waiting to see what the forthcoming Valhalla Tape Echo ends up being, but I'm pretty sure it'll be ace and I'll get it. If it does wobbly hissy, I'll be sorted.

I have the VST, great stuff! other than the obvious lofi stuff I have found that very subtle settings give a nice coloration to drums.

Oh wow! This looks awesome. I knew this developer made VST's & iOS Apps. A very welcome surprise to see this.

All over it. Can't resist that intro price.

Would it have killed them to add preset saving functionality??? No, I don't want to use a combinator for that.

Well shit. I'm a total sucker for old ass cassette emulations, so this is an insta-buy for me. First RE I've bought in a long time. Also, I reaaaaaally hope they do an RE of DAW LP as well - it's an incredible old ass vinyl emu!

So how is this different from / better than any of the other millions of tape emulation plugins out there? I mean I get that it's cassette, not tape, but couldn't you get very similar results with applications of saturation/tape wobble/eq/compression/etc?

It's not really better (or really that much different); it's just a specific emu in a nice GUI container. For $25 USD, it's not too shabby if you're a fan of quick and dirty tape emu's. And sure, you can absolutely build your own Combi and come pretty close to everything that it does, but I don't have time to do that.

It's got a little cassette in there. I'm sold for that reason alone ;)

Got home from work, hit the TRY button on this. Fired up Reason, ran a Dr.Octorex loop through & hit play .......... the tape moves! It's animated. SOLD TO ME.

My only gripe is the cassette doesn't change when you change tape types. That would be the icing on the cake. But I love what this is doing sonically. BUY! NOW!!

I'm wondering about that too. I just bought the vst a few weeks ago and if I knew about the coming of the Re-version I would have waited for it. It looks a 1000 times cooler than the vst....
