woah, the video makes it seem like a perfect device to soundtrack my sunday mornings.
sitting naked on the shower floor, thinking about all the choices i have made in my life.

gui is better than in nostromo i think, not too much knobs and enough visual feedback

KirkMarkarian: really cool track, how much time and effort it took to create that?

Thanks @BumBum! Approximately 20 minutes with relatively little effort. That being said, it operates like a Max/MSP app and I've been using granular synthesis apps for years. Combine it with Reason and it's even easier.

My only gripe...
I just wish it included some envelope generators.

Love the GUI. It's obviously in keeping with previous devices. There's a lot going on in a pretty small package but it still manages to look very neat & accessible.

............ downloading now.

After short test, did i understand correctly : one grain engine uses all selected sample areas or can you select that grain1 uses only samples 1,2 and 5?

Each engine is free to use any of the loaded samples. Sample selection is done with the sample parameter and it can be modulated.

I swear i read the manual... but sample knob goes from 0 to 100 ,not 1 to 6 . Could you please explain this process

edit: anyway, i have to say that this is really special device, its like playing civ, "just one more press of dice and then i am ready"

Sure! Well, Its just 0 to 100 because it had to be something... 1 to 6 would only make sense if 6 samples were loaded... so the number value really doesn't matter. It all depends on how many samples are loaded in the slots, and they are evenly distributed around the sample parameter. It doesn't matter which slots they are loaded in either. If 3 samples are loaded in slots 1,2,3 or 1,3,4 or 2,5,6 would all function the same.

This is truly amazing. I love your plugins they are true creative toolboxes. GUI is perfectly balanced. It's too small on my monitor but that is not your fault. Until PH solve this windows zooming is my friend.

Torsion is a lot of fun to play with. Love how it sounds with the default patch of JP's Animus. Crank up the dry/wet and you get some amazing scattered ambience.

From the manual page 6:

"Squeeze

Squeeze enables Torsions internal gain leveler. Under the hood is an upwards compressor to raise quiet
signals followed by a downwards compressor / limiter to smooth transients that a burst of grains can generate."

Kept looking for this Squeeze button, but figured out that it applied to the DYN button instead and that this most likely is a ghost-typo from a alpha or beta version of the device....

Another cute little bug I found:

If I go to EDIT to undo something I just did, it sometimes says "Undo Nostromo Change" and "Redo Nostromo Change". I find this to happen when I want to undo something I did in the MOD MATRIX or when I want to undo adjustments I have done to the looping markers in the sample slots

I'm a windows 10 user btw....

So I bought it and I love it,

and it even made me walk around the house with my old Zoom H4n hunting for samples :D

....but I kinda wish I had individual audio outputs, one for each grain engine. Possible future update?

Thanks for the other reports you put above. Yea, the individual outs were the first, second, and probably third feature request, so thats top of the list! I'm going to put those in and see what it sounds like to stick a fritz on each!

I was thinking it might be time for me to get a handheld recorder or an iOS mic for my iThing. I'm not a big sample user outside of the Factory Soundbank & a few Refills. but this kind of device does make me want to go on the hunt ;)

Torsion does exceptionally well with sampled noises from around you. Seeing as there may be individual outputs in a future version, jeez! This is a BEAST of a sample manipulator.
