I see a big mod matrix and wavetable or sample areas. I speculate some kind of grain mixer.

Six oscillator wave/grain mixer with a butt-load of modulation options. I suspect this will be Lectric Panda's best device when used with their unique random feature.

Some days I wish Lectric Panda made hardware synths. This looks like something that would be enjoyable as hardware.

It looks like Grain, but in several layers + FRITZ in one.
I think that Grain with 6 layers becomes a bit much. I’ve ran them with different samples using distributor in unison mode and the sound is so overpowering as to become unuseable....to me at least.

My guess is that this is slightly similar to The Mangle (which afaik hasn't been updated in 3 years.)

I just hope it doesn't have those one pixel wide controls like Fritz does.

But I'm going to buy this anyway.

Always hyped seeing the panda doing another instrument, with Nostromo being my favorite RE of all time.

Though, the sound examples sound a bit "samey"? Not sure this describes what I'm hearing, but the overall mangling seems to mostly towards stutter-like sounds.

Much like you can hear/spot something like Glitch VST on global random from a mile away. ;) Call it "signature sound" if you like.

Excited to give it a spin once it's out! :)

Niccce!

Ok...so how does the sample loading work and what are the limitations?

Ok...the manuals says:
Torsion holds up to 6 user samples for grain source material. Clicking on a sample slot will give focus to that
slot in the sample browser.
That means, there is no limit in sample loading for RE SDK.

This looks like Firtz, or to be precise sounds like Fritz. The advantage is, there is no buffer, but a sample. Could be a nice addition to Fritz. But more than 100 bucks is heavy.

I'm not aware of any sample number limitation in the SDK. I've had as many as 32 in a device.

HOLY COW!!! Exactly what I've been asking for - the granular aspects of Max/MSP! Lectric Panda, my wishes have been granted. Torsion has elements of Fritz in it, but it's really nothing at all like Fritz. Torsion has elements of Grain in it, but it's sound is not like Grain. The early audio examples were based off of longer loops. Put in extremely short loops and you'll get some fantastic granular looping that I haven't been able to accurately create until now. My needs are VERY specific and Torsion delivers on a grand scale. What I've been looking for in Reason is the ability to get the sounds from two particular Max/MSP standalones, and now I can. Here's an example of how I was able to use Torsion:

I've been looking to get these types of sounds below, and NOW I CAN!!!
