Hey all! So I've been getting accustomed to the PSQ-1684 and I especially like using its sequencer gate outputs on the Janitor envelope tool and rhythmically modulating the hell out of everything. However the Janitor seems a bit limited... any other CV envelope tools out there? I know Alien Seed has PSDN, which looks like it might be suitable, but it's ugly as hell!

This plus Janitor is unbeatable. The other Quadralectra CV SUite REs are nice, but this is the one to have.

Add those two after a Little LFO with one of it's random LFOs and you can control the range of random note generation.
If you ain't hip to the rare Housequake, shut up already.

Damn.

Those are my most used one:

JP kindly made some other great CV tools for free available, so check them out:

For metering actually nothing beats this for free:

Thank you all! This is extremely helpful. Shape looks really cool since I'd basically be able to have PSQ's gates trigger whatever envelope I want, but it's still a bit out of my price range at sale price. Lolth looks cool, I'll definitely give that a go! And maybe I'll trial Line Processor :)

I use Grain or Europa modulators for many tasks.
Have different types of CV RE, but it more faster for simply goals/
Want to buy Shape from Lectric Panda - it can record any CV input, but still not have it.

Movement from Blamsoft is pretty cool!

You can get the whole Polymodular bundle for 29 €/$, that includes Movement + Viking Oscillator + F-16 Filter etc. Pretty good value if you're into modular stuff, I think!

Idd! Movement is a very good LFO or oscillator, which curve can be nearly freely designed, and thats since years, long before we had eXpanse or Oberon or Europa! Just wish it would get some update...

Distributor is still a unique thing in the RE world.

The F-16 filter is very good, one of the rare which has a note input.

The mixing device i nearly never used tbh

Shape is nice, especially when you CV the start and end points and get some great glitchy cv from it.

But if you can't afford it, you can get a LOT out of CVA-7. In fact there's one CVA-7 tip that I hadn't realized until last month when I saw it on Worange's blog. It's the last tip on the page, and you'll have to translate it.

In CVA-7, you can turn off live view and capture the waveform that's displayed in a combinator. You can also scrub through it, and even assign the scrubthrough in the combinator's programmer. (You can also play with the zoom and scale in the combi's programmer.) What this does is make the CVA-7 into sort of a poor man's Shape. You could use it with Lolth to get CV delay like Shape has, and then capture the LFO rather than draw it.

I think I'm wrong that you can save the captured data with the combi. But check it out:
CVA7 Capture.zip

Nope, it does not save it. But it is still usefull if i feed something in and scroll through it later. But the problem will come if i want to save the song or whatever, the data will be lost. So i still need to record it somehow. So i was a smart-a$$ and tried to record the data just as notes and I received an error, which i never had before :-D So this will not work. Using EMI is so...meehhh...a.

I'll admit, I'd really love to have something like this in the reason rack:

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/intellijel-quadra

The expander, among other things, has CV inputs for A/D (which is brilliant).

Or something like this:

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/intellijel-dual-adsr

Perhaps a straightforward dual ADSR or quad AD panel with CV inputs on the back for A/D and cycle... man, that would be amazing! I know this can essentially be done with something like Thor, but sometimes I really want that smaller format single purpose module without having to look at the whole unused Thor GUI for just one envelope. I dunno! If, say, Lectric Panda did a smaller format module with 2x env from Nostromo with A/D/cycle CV on the back....... :puf_bigsmile:

Sry, i dont get it. You already have plenty ADSR generators in your stock devices. Maybe i miss something?

Could be I'm the one that's missing something, hah! I'd basically just like a small format device that consists only of, say, 2x ADSR with Gate IN/normal output/inverted output plus A/D/Cycle CVs on the back. Perhaps getting into Eurorack has completely scrambled my brain! :D

Heck yeah! I knew I was missing something! Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right direction! That looks perfect, and it also shows the ADSR controls when minimized. Boom!

+1 for the PSDN from me

https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... generator/

I'm beta testing the 2.0 version right now (which will be free to existing users) and it's a fantastic upgrade with a gfx display for visual feedback and loads of other goodies ... you can see it here...

http://alien-seed.com/psdn-env/

It's on sale right now and I personally I think it's well worth it at the sale price ... the 2.0 version sounds like an almost exact fit for the OP's requirements.

Loving using V1 of PSDN. Any news regarding V2? Really looking forward to it!
