I'm just learning the ropes of the Buffre Beat Repeater, but I'm having trouble controlling it. I've set the manual trigger, reset, backwards, and advance buttons to particular keys using the Keyboard Edit Mode, which kind of works. However, they seem to function as a "toggle," when i think they'd be much more effective with Buffre if they'd only last as long as I press the key down.
How do you control Buffre?

It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it seems like the Buffre trigger doesn't turn off unless the trigger signal crosses 0. So a regular gate signal where a 0 value means off would still keep Buffre on. An ugly workaround would be to wrap Buffre in a combinator, use One-Note Stand (free RE https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... ote-stand/) to turn a note event into a CV and then use Janitor CV Shaper (free RE https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... cv-shaper/) to give the gate CV a negative offset.
I created this combinator patch as an example of the workaround

To the OP you want to use MIDI to control Buffre for the most control of if (primarily more loop lengths), using the manual trigger button only gets you five different loop lengths. But manual trigger is handy to override things and lots can still be done using manual trigger only.
Emilng is 100% correct but I don't think it's a bug.

Thank you all! So to use Midi, do I use the override feature to map some of the buttons on my Midi controller? Or is there an easier way?
right click buffre and create a track for it
