Is there a simple RE for tuning guitars alike? I mean that which shows the exact note played.
Actually the Neptune does the job pretty good, but I would like a somewhat more accurate display for deviation, or just to know
if and what alternatives could exists.

Just in case you didn't know: what about the included tuner in Reason? Shows played notes by name and detune.

Idk if this is related but the glitch hop artist mr bill just made a video in ableton live where he re-tunes samples using one of the uhbik devices I believe it was the uhbik s (a pitch shifter/frequency shifter and a gnarly one at that!) but I’m sure you’ll have more use for the Neptune device when it comes to guitars. Also here’s an idea, what about recording a small snippet and using reasons audio pitch edit? Or even using the nnxt or grains pitch detection

I do not get how to route internal input to the meter.
This free vst is more practical for my intended use, I just wanted to check the deviance in any given pitch.
I mean, creating an audio track and selecting as source a soft synth does not works with the Meter, it only works when an anolg external input is selected as source. Or I'm just dumb at it.

The REC SOURCE button, if you check it on a mix channel, will make that track available to new audio tracks as an input source. This means you can run Reason's built-in tuner on any instrument in Reason. For example:

create subtractor
click REC SOURCE button on its mix channel
create a new audio track - in the input pulldown choose the subtractor
rec enable
open the tuner

Do: show recording meter. It shows A huge tuner. Build-in Reason for any input track.

The Tuner says, "No Audio Input Selected". What do i miss?

Tried it on my Mac: same behavior. Looks like redirected Audio is not recognized as "valid" input. Must be a true audio in from interface, instead.

If it helps: inline tuner on Audio track does work this way.

I may be misunderstanding something, but I have to ask, what exactly are you trying to do? I mean, wouldn't you know what note you are playing within reason? First, you asked for a tuner for a guitar, and I am assuming you meant an actual guitar, not something loaded into f.ex. NN-XT. Then you wanted to tune or analyze instruments within reason? What is going on?

The original question was indeed about guitar tuning which is absolutely fine when grabbing incoming audio from the interface. But then the discussion turned into "what if..." and having an inline tuner for e.g. checking odd samples (and correct them with pitch control) would come in handy. While dabbling with the options we realized that the small tuner displayed in the settings part of audio tracks works, while the big meter tuner doesn't.

That's all. :)
