Rostnomo is in the Shop! [Free] (Update 1.0.1, bug fix)
Shop: Rostnomo Random Synth
The core of the Nostromo synth has been rolled into a small 2 unit device. It contains the same powerful procedural panda patch generation engine.

It does. It uses the popup menus and custom displays made available in 9.x's SDK.
rostnomo = anagram(nostromo);
L.Panda for president! Thank you so much!

Damn this thing is instant inspiration. Reminds me of that free IL plugin, Autogun? But actually useful and not a total CPU killer.

This is a supremely cool idea and an unbelievably generous gift. Thank you!

Congrats to the new release!
First, I have to say that I'm a big fan and supporter of the Panda devices.
But this one I don't quite get. (Ok. I haven't tried it yet either... But I do own Nostromo...)
I mean I get what the device could do for the Panda (promote his work and possibly get people to buy Nostromo)...
But I don't get what this device can do for Nostromo owners... (as I haven't tested it...) I assume that the random function gets you quite inspirational sounds and noises... But I usually find the need to adjust those random creations a bit to really fit into what I'm after... So, maybe if there was a way to export the random creation to fix up in Nostromo... Mmmh...
For those who have Nostromo and are delighted about this one too, please enlighten me!
(Of course I could just download it and keep it in my rack, but I already have way too many synths that I don't use.)

It's just more instant I guess! Fewer options, more chance, more opportunity for discovery. I like the limitations, personally, despite also owning Nostromo 2. Agreed it'd be nice to be able to save the patches and re-open them in Nostromo 2 (I thought maybe there was some reason for restricting the ability to save patches in Rostromo but you can still do it if you just Combine it so *shrugs*) but ya know. It's free so, not complaining!
The journey to enlightenment is a solitary endeavor, Rostnomo will let Nostromo owners do it for free. Thank you Panda!

If you already own Nostromo 2, you really don't need this. There isn't anything new here for owners. This is a very limited subset of Nostromo 2. Mostly because I wasn't able to reset 30 day trials. So, people can check out the patch generation and CPU usage.

Well hey I still like it and I own both! But yeah it's a great idea to get around the trial reset. People will no doubt want more once they get their hands on this. Like I said for me it reminds me of Autogun (only this has more patches ), where the idea isn't to tweak or adjust. But just to explore, and if a sound makes you make music, then that's what you do!

Nice synth.
Open a Combinator.
Insert a 6:1 mixer.
Drag in a Rostnomo.
Go through a bunch of random sounds. And/or manually scroll through each of the 27 wave windows.
When you find one you love, drag another Rostnomo into the Combinator.
Go through a bunch of random sounds in the second one.
Repeat for all 6 Rostnomi.
Save and name the Combinator.
Remember you have work tomorrow.
(you can insert any effect between any Rostnomo and it's mixer channel)
P.S. Each Rostnomo seems to be up to 27 synths in one, so hitting your CPU is easy.

Wow. Thank you. I'll download this now.
Thank you Rob & Co!
This is a really smart way to get around the 30 day trial reset, but even more than that, it's a generous gift to the community.

Nice.
But like someone mentioned, being able to save patches feels kind of important, even if it just works as a teaser for Nostromo imo.
