One of the best synths in the shop. Has it been a year already?!
convenient timing ,right before the release of Reason 10 .... but 79 is a great price ^^
Still i'm holding off untill i have tried Europa in the bèta (not that i believe they are totally comparable, but there are similarities....)

me too. it's definitly the best RE synth i've demo'd.
convenient the sale ends the day before 10 comes out, so hopefully we get in the beta.
This synth was a bargain at 150$. more filters and functions that you would ever need in ONE synth and no combis.
If you can, get it now xD had it for almost a year now

That's it - I'm pulling the trigger NOW !
Damn, bought Expanse during the end of summer sale for $109. Never would have expected an even bigger sale. Still a deal either way you cut it for such an awesome RE.
Relax. Listen to some music.

In the world where every VST synth is possible in Reason, Expanse is one of the very few Rack Extensions that's still truly worth it. To bad there isn't much market for RE sound bank development because this synth can really get it done.

Seems like eXpanse has much more depth to it overall. With the 4 oscillators, 3 modifiers per oscillator, and CV routing on the back.
Just from the GUI of Europa, two features stand out to me. Envelope section and spectral filter. Spectral filter could be very unique and produce nice results, but we'll have to wait and see. I'm not sure what the "shape" function will actually do, I'd assume it controls the wavetable position, like eXpanse.
You can pretty much see the difference in features just by looking at the GUI of both of them. Just waiting to test the spectral filter stuff and a reveal of CV routing on the back.
In eXpanse: 4 oscilator, Wavetable loading, 3 realtime modifiers on wavetable, 2 Filters, several unison modes, bunch of usefull CV in/out, Audio in, free FX routing
In Europa: 3 oscilator, Wavetable painting, 2 (realtime?) modifiers, 1 Filter, several (unknown count) unison mode, Spectral Filter and Harmonics, CV?, AudioIN?, free FX routing?
So far i could tell from the pic
Reason12, Win10
Expanse has powerful routing! I just wish it had envelope level automation, other than that it's awesome.
The time to trial it deep has come..
Europa's cv routing on the back! Can't wait to know!
I just imported some Serum Wt, into expanse, it has a user option to import the Wt.
From Europa vid I can see there is wt at the bottom... other stuff to see?

Would love to have this but can't justify it even at sale price, I just have too many synths to master right now with Serum being one of them. eXpanse looks incredible though.

Only thing I can think of to supplement your need is the scale feature, mod evnc one *Modwheel and automate the mod wheelRe8et wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017Expanse has powerful routing! I just wish it had envelope level automation, other than that it's awesome.

Matthias did say that the oscillators are generated in real time in the R10 announced thread, my only hopes now is that Europa has bend +, -, and +/-Loque wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017In eXpanse: 4 oscilator, Wavetable loading, 3 realtime modifiers on wavetable, 2 Filters, several unison modes, bunch of usefull CV in/out, Audio in, free FX routing

Europa has no Audio in. When you look at the picture and the video it seems it has free FX routing. I think Europa has as well different unison modes.Loque wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017In eXpanse: 4 oscilator, Wavetable loading, 3 realtime modifiers on wavetable, 2 Filters, several unison modes, bunch of usefull CV in/out, Audio in, free FX routing

No wavetable loading on the other hand is sad, but maybe this will change in the future.

How CPU heavy is eXpanse? I have an older Windows 7 machine with an i5-3570 3.40ghz, 4 core processor and 12GB of RAM so right now it works well...will eXpanse challenge such a machine?

Haven't noticed it seems to be fairly low for me anyway.Siberian Khatru wrote: ↑04 Oct 2017How CPU heavy is eXpanse? I have an older Windows 7 machine with an i5-3570 3.40ghz, 4 core processor and 12GB of RAM so right now it works well...will eXpanse challenge such a machine?
It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!
