OK this is probably pretty basic for some of you, so help a brother out who is clueless.

I have Proton.

I want to make a wave file of my voice.

I go into Reason and create an audio track.

I talk into a mic and record it in Reason.

Now I have the sound source I want to use.

How do I take that audio track in Reason and make it a wave file, that I can then import into Proton?

Cheers...

Instead of recording it first as you usually record in Reason, you could record it directly into Proton. Just push the button on Proton that looks like a waveform next to the sample browse button to start the recording.

Only problem with recording directly into proton is as you can't treat the voice first, you can't compress it, you can't eat Hewitt, you can't normalize it, you can't put it in the effects on it.

Right click on the audio part in the track in select bounce to new sample

OK and then it becomes a wave file?

Where can the file be found?

Under song samples in the browser.

Actually you can do all this :)

Go to the master section and flip the rack around (if it's folded then open it so you can see the Dim and Bypass buttons) - you'll see cables running from the Sampling Input to the Audio Input, this is the connection in which you insert devices you wish to effect the incoming sample stream with.

In fairness, I wouldn't use this method personally, I'd rather bounce it, edit it and then load it into whatever device. This is good for live situations though if you fancy doing it on the fly for whatever reason.

Cheers
