I've been struggling for way too long to find a certain Hammond B-3 sound for a particular piece.
Right off the bat the Jiggery-Pokery B-3 emulator was in the ballpark.
But I just couldn't get the right controlled but crushing sound I wanted. Not all the way, anyway. It wasn't long before I had Pulverizer, another compressor, EQ and a distortion box in the chain trying to get THE sound. But alas......
then I flipped the B-3 around to check a cable and WTF! there's a slew of adjustments on the backside of the thing!
Something called "cabinet damping" got me to the sound I wanted in about 10 minutes.
Note to Jiggery-Pokery B-3 fans: check the back of the thing!
Oh, holy crap! The BACK of the B-3 organ emulator

I make it a point to flip all RE's around now and again to remind myself what the developers have placed back there. Sometimes a treasure trove of stuff for sure!

Good habit! I've had this B-3 emulator for more than a year and never noticed.

Agreed, that's one of the hallmarks of JP's devices. For your continued pleasure, here's the back of the Combo X-705 Space Organ:

Makes me want to investigate those, just for being different.

Thanks for pointing that out! I myself own Combo X-705, but never really paid attention to what was on its back... I got some surprises, like cooler distortion! It seems that Jiggery-Pokey's REs are to be flipped to fully grab their potential!

The JPS Harmonic Synth is an absolute treasure. Beautiful, unique instrument with killer FX, I love it
