I bought this in a sale ages and ages ago, thinking "that'll be fun for something."
Can you believe I only just got round to trying it?
I was right. This is a fun device, and more useful than its name suggests.

Route your instrument through DLD Virtual Surround, set to 70% or so wet. Set up your favourite LFO generator underneath. Set the LFO to a tempo-sync'd 1-bar bi-polar saw wave and connect that to the Angle knob. Set a slow random square wave LFO, and connect it to Distance. Congrats, your track is now better.

It's a nice device - doesn't quite deliver what it says on the box (the "elevation" function is subtle to the point of barely-there) but it can do some surprising stuff. I haven't used it for a while, this has reminded me to dig it out and play with it again

I must admit it has got me wondering if there is anything that does the job even better/more interestingly out in... *Cough*VST-land*cough*
