Incase you guys haven't seen this, you can use VCVRack AS VST now.

https://github.com/bsp2/VeeSeeVSTRack ;)
But it is only a bridge or does this changed within the last months?

IYeah, we have Resonans. It's a nice-sounding RE, but it's heavy on the CPU (for me)
I think what can kill the performance with Resonans is high polyphony in combination with the Modal Resonator mode (which is based on Rings). The original Rings module does some quality reduction (less partials) when you start adding polyphony, but I run Resonans with full partials all the time. I did vectorize the algorithm, though, so it still runs about twice as fast as the original code from MI. I think the Resonator (Rings) in VCV doesn't have these optimizations, so it's pretty heavy on the CPU, at least the last time I checked?

So if you're experiencing a huge performance hit in Resonans I suggest you try to reduce the polyphony as much as possible!

Will try that! I made a fantastic video game soundtrack with it about a year and a half ago. It's a beautiful RE. My point should have been specified better. I have a slow, old Mac Mini. I'm getting a new computer very soon.

All VSTs are saved in Combis, I think?

Anyway, I think this plugin is an unofficial fork of VCV. When VCV Rack 2.0 is released (in about a year?) it will come as an official VST for 99$:

The standalone version and source code will continue to be free.

Turns out a lot of the code for the modules is open source. I wasn't piecing that together earlier. If somebody wanted to, they could turn these into REs.
