SDK 2.5: New RE Wishlist

Given that SDK 2.5 is out, I think it might be good to gather some ideas and figure out what devices people would like to see the most.

I will start:

A sample slicer that will automap slices to the keyboard and allow me to add, remove and move slice markers in real time ( kind of like simpler in ableton)

I'd love to see pattern to track. There are a lot of pattern devices I have but don't use because I can't be dealing with multiple racks + CV switching, or fiddly automation.

Also...time stretch and formant shifting would be amazing. Especially now we have sample import. Can you imagine a Kong style drum machine with those features? Even if it used (or had the option of) an "eco" version of what we currently have in Reason, I think that'd be incredible.

That's another nice one. Or a sort of "Dr.octo wav" or something like has came recently on Cubase Pro 9. A sort of autoslicing-in-line of an audio track

There is also the possibility of a CV sampler device that can play back CV signals. Again, I'm unsure if it is actually possible to integrate this with R9.2's sample handling. Shape does this already without sampling.

And of course adding convolution support to reverb devices, although I'm unsure of which reverbs add something special that the RV7000 Mk2 doesn't do.

I wonder if we'll see any big names come onboard with Re's now as it may have been limitations stopping them.

I really want the Korg M1 and wonder if it was limitations (as Korg have already given us 2 of their vst synths) there perhaps? Sylenth would be nice too but I guess we'll see Re equivalents and it may entice people to buy Reason as some new talked about Re will be only available in Reason.

Just in case, are you aware that you can copy any pattern to track using Chords Player? I realize it is still a workaround, but it's the quickest method we have so far.

I can't get neither Magnus nor Fredrik to respond to me. Both have dropped off the face of the planet since they started working with Teenage Engineering on the PO-32 hardware.

Well Permut8 does have the loading of different firmwares. Not sure if this update would answer that.
I'm also not sure what the limitations have been preventing Microtonic...

The firmware updating would't be possible in Reason's closed garden, but there would be other ways around it (it could be "baked in" to the RE and available as patches - simples)! As for Microtonic, I can't see anything that would hold it back, but... who knows?

I've tried getting Magnus and/or Fredrik to respond for a bit now, but they're playing hard to get. Too busy with the Teenage Engineering PO-32 hardware, I suspect.
