+1 for sustain pedal support please! Sticking 2 Legends into a Combinator and splitting the key-range works a treat for adding more poly

I feel like I might be asking a dumb question here, but how do you make the legend change note volume depending on midi note volume?

The VST version just got updated with a bandpass filter and velocity and aftertouch features. Nice! But I hope the RE gets the same treatment.

Yep - we're getting it. ;) The Legend RE update introducing the same features (bandpass filter and velocity and aftertouch) will be out by this weekend, very likely.

Yay velocity!

I was really missing that.

Bandpass filter is awesome too, that should really expand the sound palette.

Here's a fun little experiment:

I converted a Legend filter sweep to a Serum-style (2048 frames/cycle) wavetable (with a tool I wrote today) and replayed it with UVI Falcon:

No additional filters were used, just a delay (in the 2nd part) and a tiny bit of reverb (via Synapse Deep Reverb).

CPU Usage: 2% :D

(musical prowess: 1% :D:D)

I just posted this track in the music thread but since this thread just got bumped up I'll post it here also.

Every sound here comes from the Legend. No samples. All reverbs come from Legend, most delays do too.
View it as a demo track for the synth.

Very nice. Could hear a few tritone's in there too ha ha!

Not to keep dragging up this old thread, but since I bought this RE about a week ago, I don't think I've opened any other instrument device. It is so, so beautiful.

Here are some more wavetables captured from Legend and played in Falcon (+ some reverb but no unison, filter or voice layering tricks. only the wavetable index and the osc level are being modulated).

Simple stuff but sounds nice.

@TritoneAddiction: very nice demo ! I actually bumped this thread after hearing it in the other thread ;)

Very nice indeed.

Any chance you could upload the whole reason song file for this? I have Falcon but haven't used it as much as I'd have liked. I'd love to see how you used the wavetables and modulation.

Thanks, glad you liked it.

I closed the Reason project without saving it but I still have the Falcon patches (see attachment).

The key to those sounds is the wavetable index modulation (well, that, and the Legend samples sound very nice to begin with).

The "fmdream" patch uses a rather fast (>4Hz) modulation, for example. The index LFO start phase is also modulated by a "Unipolar Random".

I tried reproducing the sounds in eXpanse but for some reason the phase offset in the wavetable turned into some kind of vibrato there.

Don't forget to add a reverb. I used Toraverb 2 since I just got it but other reverbs work fine, too.

Is it intro price or what??
Btw Vk2 has the Drive down by default, pump that up, love the difference in sound btw the two, they layer perfectly!
(Plus eXpanse naturally :D)

I have been using the Legend as part of my Subscription, hands down one of the best synths I have ever used.

Just drop in a patch a few tweaks and Perfect. I will be buying this on the next Payday or at the end of the subscription cycle.

I will say as far as reason devices I cannot live without this synth....Should have trialed or brought it a long time ago.

Nice to see they've updated it:
Update 1.0.3
  • Strong performance improvements.
  • New patches added.

https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... nthesizer/

Wonder what triggered it though? Has it started lagging behind in performance after Reason 10.3? ;)

They updated to 1.1.2.
The update 1.0.3 you're quoting is an older one.
