Why? Ugh... I really enjoy the current version's GUI. It adds some 80's flair to a 80's Matrix 12 sounding synth. I suppose it all goes to the whole "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" things, but really I thought the design was fine. I'd rather see more sample sources/patches than messing with the colors.

Side note - thank you for putting these on sale! I bought Solaris, Aurora, and Orbis, and have yet to even play around with Aurora/Orbis because I have had such a good time playing around with Solaris. Looking forward to many more hours of playing

The next update will bring some patches. Still unclear on the amount for the gui update version.

To rephrase my previous post: My usability concern with this new color scheme is that now all the clickable text looks very similar to the non-clickable text.

Here's what I would suggest: Bring back the magenta, but for the LED text itself instead of the LED strip backgrounds. For the backgrounds, a dim magenta would help reinforce the clickable areas while being less eyestrain-inducing than the original bright magenta (and it would look cool).

It's a good idea and i'll definitely try it out. Thanks

My only thing was that the display backgrounds are a very similar in color as the new rack ear area... which makes it look a little off (like it's just a cutout). So yeah, I think any other color for those display backgrounds would be good or just keep the entire device background as-is without the rack ear area...

I still think the screws into the cracked glass is cool, but I'm a weirdo

I like the blue lettering. It's as if saying, anything blue (knobs or text wise) can be adjusted...

These are all solid improvements, but I would call the hopbush version the winner. Good call on going more pink than purple; it gives it more of a plasma-display edge.

Joeyluck has a valid point about the blue version, though I think your UI can easily afford two "interaction colors" in this context. And the combination just looks cooler.

There is a science behind why red, pink and magenta may be difficult to read.
So what is more important? Looking fancy or being useful? (As in being able to read useful information)

Red colors seems to be closer to most people, compared to blue. So when you have red color in a display,
as in Revival for example, your brain tells you that the text should be further away (inside the display),
but because it appears to be closer, it seems out of focus. This quickly becomes tiring...

Blue and red colors also tends to "hang" longer on your retina compared to green colors that
are considered the average focus color in photography for example. This may cause the impression of
flickering as you move your eyes around to different parts of the device because the red text/picture
is still stored on your retina. (Same as if you look directly at the sun for a second, when you turn away,
you can still see the sun "imprinted" on your retina for a while after.

So with that said, I like the blue version best. The others I find very hard to read...
Bluish-green is considered the easiest to read on black background. Toning down the intensity
might also improve the reading ability.

Blue all the way .........

If the color of the hopbush could be brightened a bit more in the same amount that the blue is, that would be a really pretty color. Blue is definitely easier to read in this situation at its current state, but oh how I enjoy having a solid magenta/neon pink for once in an RE. Could you add more white to the hopbush?

I like the color scheme as it is, personally. the only real change I'd like for the GUI would be to make some of the text larger.

Just recorded an in-depth review of Solaris with a lot of sample sounds. Well done with it! It's a great retro synth, and one of my favorite synth RE's, but the UI could definitely use some clean up. Also, I've had some trouble adjusting the number values in the "LED" sections (i.e. WF, PHA). Still, it's totally worth the current price of $39!

I don't know when you recorded this ?
But Solaris has been updated with a new Gui ....
& if i may ask ' what is your Computer Spec's because on my Machine Solaris bearly even register's
Cpu wise ! unless i am playing 4 note chords or something ! & yes it is a Brilliant Synth IMO too

Weird... I just recorded it today... Normally it runs 8 or 9 instances run fine on my computer, but I think it's the screen cap software that makes my CPU dive. I've got a newish i5 6500 with 8 GB of ram and an SSD. But the screen cap software always screeches everything to a halt

I do personally think that Solaris is more flexible.... and easy to create sounds on.....and is well worth the money

I should also add, all the sounds in that demo are included as presets with Solaris (and the drums were from Solaris as well, OK the drums are nothing to write home apart from a real 80's feel )
