How would you name your plugin/RE's brand?

This forum is for discussing Rack Extensions. Devs are all welcome to show off their goods.

I'd love to hear your opinions about some branding concepts in the field of music technology.
So here it is: what name would you choose for your ideal brand of RE/plugins? Even if you don't have a name, it would be cool to hear your strategy regarding how to compose one.

Here's some inspiration (I intentionally mention huge brands to stimulate thinking globally and connect with this relatively small niche):
  • Simply a name/surname like Porsche, D&G.
  • A combination of your initials or parts of your name like ARP (Alan R Pearlman, cool beacuse of arpeggio), Adidas (Adolf Dassler), Korg (Keio Organs).
  • A made-up-ish word like Kodak, Google or Ableton (able-to? not too sure here).
  • Field-related words like Volvo (volvere>evolve, I roll) Logic, Vocoder (voice encoder).
  • Random or conceptually more abstract words like Amazon, Virgin.

Don't forget Propellerhead Software, a name that implies a high "geek" factor. I went the "part of name" route more or less, using my first name backwards. I had already used this name for my first publishing company, as well as my user name on the old PUF, so it made sense to leverage that name for REs.

For a device I would maybe take a strong german word, something like "Sturm". And for future devices I would apply the same concept: "Ohrwurm" maybe for an arpeggiator.

Mine would have to be a double entendre based on rack extension... Something like 'groovy melons', hang on... 'big titty scaffolding', yup that's much better

I like the idea of German words!
'Sturm' sounds great. I also thought of 'Klang'
Needless to say I'd borrow from Bauhaus graphics, trying not to be too hipster of course:)

Selig is good. It has a bit of a German sound, which typically means good quality engineering hehe.
Wait, dictionary says it means 'blessed'. Good all the more :)

Cool!
In my view reVo is memorable, I think easy to pronounce in various languages, and additionally, thanks to the prefix -re, it's conceptually connected to sound (phase cycles repetition) and creativity (revolution).

Are you a native German speaker? I ask because your text on your website sometimes reads as it was translated by Google Translate

I'd probably call my company "Gary", or perhaps "Rocks and stuff". My first RE would be an amp sim called "Kathleen Turner Overdrive".
