It comes from the University of Utah (where I attended my freshman year), where early work on 3D modeling was done as well as early development of digital music recording. They have a strong computer science department there, to say the least! In fact, I took one of the first ever "computers and music" classes there in 1979, years before computers were available to the average user/musician. Exciting times!

I got somewhat confused , not finding Kron in the PH shop; I take it Kron was the pre-release name for PSDN CV Envelope Generator by Alien Seed Tech?

I think it's handy having the rate available in musical tempo multiples, although converting between beats to Hz is not a hard.

Kron hasn't been released yet, I assume the info comes from the beta (NDA be damned ;) ). There's some info here:
