Why only 4 seconds? It's impossible to judge when your ears don't have any time to adjust to each sound.

I genuinely don't know, but I prefer the first one. It seems more airy and dynamic somehow, to my untutored ears.

It's virtually impossible to tell, IMHO. That said, your hardware 303 can't do this:

The TB-303 is actually an emulation of the ABL3 created by a time traveler who made do with the technology he had available when he traveled back to 1982. I'd say he did a pretty good job emulating the ABL3; spot-on.

The first part is ABL3 since it's much smoother than the original hardware. That's something I noticed when comparing it to my x0xb0x.

Interesting. The second one sounds louder to me.

1st part sounds like the real 303 to me, seems to have a slightly more pronounced accent sweep and tiny bit more resonance. There could be some subtle differences in the square wave as well, but it's hard to tell.

..I thought the first one was ABL3...the second one sounded thicker to me ..so I assumed the second one was the REAL hardware 303

I actually thought it was the opposite because of the aging electronics inside of a 303. Some of my friends using old 80's hardware need to do some maintenance on their parts once in awhile.
