Since GQ-7 is the only EQ that can do 96db per octave, is there a way to achieve it or at least approximately achieve it with other EQs?

Just daisychain multiple EQs. I.e. 2x 6dB cut at 90Hz = 1x 12dB cut at 90Hz

To be honest, 96db is far too steep in most cases and is unnatural sounding.

I think D-Filter gets pretty steep and sounds really clean (to me). Occasionally I'll use it for a 20-30hz cutoff. Relatively inexpensive too.

EDIT: Just double checked the product page and yeah, "Adjustable slope : 12/24/48/96/192 dB per octave modes". Of course, it's not an "EQ" per se. But, for $35 it's an awesome tool to have. I use it constantly for lots of different things.
