It seems to be based on/inspired by the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer, famously used by Jean-Michel Jarre

That's one beautiful looking RE! Shame it'll be much smaller in the rack.

Are you talking about the forum adjusted size or the actual size of that image? Because that would be way too big lol.
But I think the rack size will be perfect.
Closer to this:

But I'm sure we will be teased with actual rack pics and videos soon :)

This is very exciting!

Still circa two weeks from beta, but I will be looking for a few additionals for testing and patch contributions. Hopefuls should write to my support email address (this is the first part of the entry test ;) ) with their OS and Reason version details. Cheers :)

As Daniel points out above, this is based on the RMI of the same name. It's not an exact model so I won't describe it as such, as closest I've ever got to within 50 yards of one of these ultra-rare synths was at the O2 in London, 10/10/10 ;) (To see whom? That's the second part of the entry test! :p ). It is based on the schematics, research and some common sense, with a few updates. The range and curves of knobs and faders we've made arbitrary decisions about, so we have a much bigger range. I left it with one internal LFO, but there are now plenty of external LFO options that can be hooked into it as we've provided LFO over-ride CV ins for all five internal modulation sources. I'd recommend Ammo 100LA, of course! It's Black Friday in a couple of weeks...

So it can get pretty close, we feel. It's a vintage digital synth, it's got a lo-fi, dirty quality; it's only 5-bit, although we've added the option for up to 8-bits. It's not Massive, or Falcon!

I love the UI very intriguing ! Email sent
My opinion is that Propellerhead REASON needs a complete rewrite!
P.S: people should stop saying "No it won't happen" when referring to a complete rewrite of REASON. I have 3 letters for ya....VST

This looks like a lot of fun to play with. I personally love the obscure and strange devices. This is why I wish Make Noise made rack extensions of their eurorack modules.

I had to keep something back ;)

I wasn't going to reveal that part until beta, but I've been jamming Oxy IV for about a month now while testing the synth, and after this past weekends tragic events, I had to record it (hence why I left my usual logos off).

So I'm guessing its not an IDT device? Based on the fact that JP said there were CV inputs, which is great since I'm a huge fan of CV! It does look quite interesting, and I enjoy synths with character.

JP posted a picture of the back of the device on FB. Yeah, there are a few CV inputs.

This is awesome! But admittedly quite a bit to look at. Maybe doing something with alternating background shades would help?

I was curious enough to try it. Not sure I like it, though it might be that I'm just not used to it after eight months of the original look...

I think it's a bit easier to navigate this way.

Too late for a change if it's due soon? JP will likely have had much feedback from regular users prompting the change so I am perfectly happy to trust his iinstincts
