https://skrockmusicre.wordpress.com/201 ... nthesizer/
Hi there!
The Orbis Wavetable Synthesizer is a mono/poly wavetable synth.
4 Oscillators with a selection of 14 wavetables each.
Oscillator 1/2/3/4 controls:
Volume, Drive, Tune, Detune, Offset (wave start position), Spread.
Wavetable start position, Start velocity, Start ADSR, Start LFO. Pitch LFO (with attack knob).
Filter Section:
LP24, BP6, HP12. All can be enabled simultaneously.
ADSR, Filter LFO (Table: 1,2,3,4).
Amp:
Master Volume, ADSR.
Other:
Voices (Mono, 2, 4, 8), Master Tune.
------
This demo makes use of one Orbis. Used a Chopin midi file and recorded random controls as automation.
Four Orbis playing different parts.

Hey, the demo sounds really good to me. Do you looking for a Beta-Tester?
is it IDT based or a coded RE?

Looks and sounds great! Can't wait to try this out!
Great stuff man. Love these kinds of sounds. Warm and beautiful without being too new agey or saccharine. Looking forward to seeing more.

Have to say that this Skrock-dude is a hard hitter in the RE-frontier
Out of the blue with Nautilus and now this.
Hope the price will be Nautilicious also.

What's happening around the back, in terms of CV in / audio out?

This is a bit confusing, imo.M.B wrote:
4 Tables (oscillators) with a selection of 9 wavetables each.
Wavetable No: 5 contains 256 different single cycle waveforms.
How many waveforms are in wavetables 1-4 and 6-9? Why only mention the number of waveforms in wavetable #5?
Does this mean all bar #5 are just a single waveform (albeit with a variable start position) and not actually wavetables?

SNAP: Just to clarify: is it a Wavetable (like Malstrom) or a straight ROMpler wave?
Looks interesting either way. I was thinking that a full Polysynth like Nautilus would be worth looking at.

All 9 wavetables are real wavetables, like Malström. In reality all of them are made from 256 single cycle waveforms each. Number 5 is just special in that it contains a totally different waveform in each step 1-256. The others are made to fade/transform from step 1-256.

Ah, ok, that's a lot clearer!M.B wrote:All 9 wavetables are real wavetables, like Malström. In reality all of them are made from 256 single cycle waveforms each. I think i'll rename the tables to oscillator 1/2/3/4 with 9 wavetables each. I see how it's confusing as it is now.JiggeryPokery wrote:Ah, ok, that's a lot clearer!M.B wrote:All 9 wavetables are real wavetables, like Malström. I was puzzled by that as well - I kept looking for a 5th oscillator in the image... But eventually after re-re-re-reading I figured out the answer that has been givenJiggeryPokery wrote:This is a bit confusing, imo.M.B wrote:

I hope IDT will get CV support soon, because devices like these beg for CV inputs on the backside!

Synth sounds good from preview songs, but wondering if there'll be breakouts for each oscillator (post Filter/LFOs/Envelopes)? I tend to give each oscillator its own mix channel...
I think this will happen. It is a matter of time before they incorporate this "staple" of the Reason ecosystem. On the breakouts for each Table Osc I agree. You could do a lot more with this modularly if it had a stereo outs for each.Exowildebeest wrote:I hope IDT will get CV support soon, because devices like these beg for CV inputs on the backside!
I'm looking into this as I would like breakouts myself. When/if we get cv inputs I will add it.Lizard wrote:I think this will happen. I noticed that I could add a few of my older wavetables without breaking patches, so it's up to 12 wavetables !

150 paid RExtensions and still no Grammy
Just curious, what synth are you using that will allow you to get each oscillator output post Filter/LFO/Env ?Dance FX 21 wrote:Synth sounds good from preview songs, but wondering if there'll be breakouts for each oscillator (post Filter/LFOs/Envelopes)?
