Have you watched the vids/promos? Kinda sorts it for me. There is a big price diff. also.

Record and mess up for Step.

Write and mess up / re-direct for Propulsion?

Sorry if that's obvious.

I'd say they're very different. Propulsion is like the Redrum sequencer on steroids, great for programming rhythms since it has multiple lanes and patterns. Step is about recording and manipulating melodies.
