It's just fucking GREAT!!! Thank you so much for all these great improvements. You're an amazing and talented RE dev. Love your devices, they are really creative.
And thanks again to always listening very carefully your customers and their suggestions

Won't need stinky ole Matrix no more.
This thing eats Matrices for breakfast!
Nice (continued) work on this bad boy, Robotic Bean!!
The ratchet mode works great for doing snare drum flam.
Here's an example (excuse the monotony of the loop)

You may have just sold me on this. Trying to paint those snare rolls into the piano roll is a pain in 1/32 or 64th. This looks like it would be a lot easier doing the roll with pitch change.challism wrote:The ratchet mode works great for doing snare drum flam.

150 paid RExtensions and still no Grammy
This looks great but how do you change patterns (I'm assuming a whole song isn't the same riff with transpose variations)? I can't see on the UI.
Eventually I hope Props will implement "copy to track" and then this will be a great building block creator. I especially like the entry from MIDI keyboard.

you would have multiple steps and switch them with their cv selector RE.raymondh wrote:This looks great but how do you change patterns (I'm assuming a whole song isn't the same riff with transpose variations)? I can't see on the UI.

Aaaaaah, Ratchet, Ratchet, Ratchet !!!!!!!!
@rBuddard: Have any additional remote mapping destinations been added ?
Or can i for example, mute steps using the keyboard when the device is not in record mode ? Anything actually that can be used to live alter the sequemce from a control surface

Thank you very much, really appreciated. Proud owner of Step!
The best things happen after reading the manual.
Yes, you can basically Remote control everything in Step except for the Record button (which is impossible due to SDK limitations). You can download the remote map template for Step 1.1.0 here:eauhm wrote:@rBuddard: Have any additional remote mapping destinations been added ?

Amazing update to an already fantastic RE.
Don't forget about Robotic Bean's utility RE "Select CV Switch" which essentially makes up for the lack of the SDK allowing for multiple patterns or note to track, because you can use up to 8 different instances of Step (or Euclid) and switch between the different instances as if they are different patterns.
It's a very nice solution to this limitation. https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... cv-switch/

Here's a combi patch with 2 sets of Select CV Switches (2x8 = 16 patterns). You could actually set this up with 6 more sets for a grand total of 64 different patterns. I'm not sure how CPU intensive that would be, but this patch will allow you to switch between 16 different patterns. That's plenty of options.
You can also use Euclid to trigger Step (via Step's "clock in" CV), which can make for some really interesting and unique rhythms for your patterns.
