Wow, this forum is starting to remind me more and more of videogame hype :) I guess we're still a bit starved for news, so every single RE gets attention. Agreed, this one looks particularly promising though

My opinion is that Propellerhead REASON needs a complete rewrite!
P.S: people should stop saying "No it won't happen" when referring to a complete rewrite of REASON. I have 3 letters for ya....VST

I don't often get excited for REs, but you definitely have my attention with this one!

As for the sub-presets for different categories / sections. Does this also mean you can save them individually or are they fixed presets that come with Oberon?

Saving sub-presets would be indeed a great feature! :D

Way too hyped! I may be under a weird influence because of my love-hate relation ship with Parsec. Either, the sound is super lovely or super weird and annoying and often too samey.

I'm all for new UI concepts and intuitive interactions. If Oberon can deliver that, which I assume it does, and it presents additive in a way that I can get more comfortable with, this is probably my next RE purchase.

... *cough* Song Challenge *cough* ;)

Seems no more pics until PH approval, so nothing of the UI has to be changed.

While we are still waiting for approval and thus be sure that the GUI is totally finalized, here's the signal flow diagram of OBERON, are upcoming synthesizer for Reason:

Without talking about Fight Club: when you make an RE you can do any insane thing that you can mange to get the SDK to do. You then have to submit to Props who test and make sure that it will not only work reliably but that it meets a set of criteria that means it will play well in the rack. Simple ones are like the Note On light. Props can be picky but generally it is for the best of the platform and therefore us users.

Nice one! Looks like this synth covers some ideas ive been thinking about recently, seems like it will open up a world of new experimentation. Especially the whole filter curve thingie, a question regarding that, will it be possible to make a filter curve that positions itself on the spectrum relative to the note played? (Would require per note filter i guess unless that result can be precalculated or if its additive to its core.)

imo its worth any Hype.
oberon delivers possibilities that are complete new to Reason.
and a workflow that you wont miss anymore, once you touched the Display (presets, copy/paste, folding, zoom, etc.)
i realy hope this display-workflow will become a new standard to reason and its RE.
its a nice teaser video, but it "only" shows some (main) features. there is so much more to explore :)
they did so much finetuning on details.
anyway, a 2 hour long video wouldn`t be a teaser anymore !?!
cheers

each played note has its own filter. and even the modsources will go its own way like LFOs. so if you start 2 notes on different times the lfos wont wobble together, unless you deactive the key-sync start of them...

and there is keyboard-tracking from 0-200%.
or what do you mean by "spectrum realtive"?

the whole concept seems to be outstanding, but the sounds in the video are quite generic. let us hear those otherworldly sonic landscapes it can (hopefully) do!
Goan doesn't do Goa, he likes samples, weirdness, beats
