Hi everyone!

In order to pursue the tradition of the "Expected new REs" threads of the defunct Propellerhead User Forum, here's the first monthly summary on ReasonTalk of the Rack Extensions that we might see reach the Propellerhead shop in the very near future! That summary won't be long. Unlike the very active month of December (during which eleven new REs were released: RVL-1 CV Display, Tube-Tech Classic Channel, FutzBox, EVE-MP5, Beat Crush, Mr OverDrive, ReBass Wide, JammeR, Digital Hall Reverb, JackBox 7R-707 and 7R-727), January has been very quiet, both in terms of releases (only four new REs in the shop, three of them being the three Newtrol CV Control Board, and the last one being Bassment DSP's SA-16 Chorus) and in terms of informations about new REs to come.

Please note that, in those summaries, no unauthorized leaked information will be reported, and I will ask you not to post any unauthorized information about an upcoming Rack Extension, meaning not to post any information that hasn't been approved for publication by its developer. Note also that I set aside some previews, as I feel not sure enough those previews are about Rack Extensions to come in the short future. Examples: vague announcements from some developer, rumours about a device in beta, etc.

So, now, let's take a look at that short summary of what we might see reach the shop in the next weeks!

- Jiggery Pokery's Republik Handheld Percussion

After a very active year, Jiggery Pokery is already back with a new Rack Extension, named Republik Handheld Percussion. This RE will consist of a pretty big ensemble of 66 instruments, mostly consisting of sets of latin, african and folk percussions, as well as some household kits. Republik will also bear many additional features, like a choice of 11 reverbs, the possibility to map some samples on the keyboard, etc. A most detailed description of Republik is available in that presentation post from Jiggery Pokery himself! Likely to be available very soon!

- Ochen K's Carve (Released!!!)

Announced a few weeks ago, Ochen K's next device, Carve, has been delayed a little bit... But it has now been submitted, and should be available by the end of the month if everything goes well. Carve will be a dynamic ducking EQ, presented in this demo video released when call for beta testers was made.

- Devoloop's Sitbull

Advertised since a couple of weeks, Devoloop's next Rack Extension is likely close to be released! Sitbull will be a bass amp, with many controllable parameters, notably a Hopa control, the kind of thing Devoloop like to add on their REs! More information is available from the Sitbull page on their website.

Image

- Lectric Panda's Shape

Lectric Panda seems decided to take the utilities department to the next level. Shape, next Lectric Panda's Rack Extension, will be a generator and editor of LFOs and envelop, coming with some features such as CV capture (recording) and drawing. No release date is available yet, but we can wish to see this device reach the shop in February.

Image

- DLD Technology's Revolution

DLD Technology took a unusual way to present us their next Rack Extension: let us vote on the user interface! The picture below shows the winning interface. No detail has been released yet about what this new Rack Extension will be exactly: all our current hints come from the picture itself! We also don't know when it will be available, but we can guess a March release, given the usual pace of that developer.

- SoundIron's Emotional Piano

Reason user and forum member joeyluck has recently reported that SoundIron, a noteworthy developer of sound librairies who has made some ReFills in the last years, is about to release its first Rack Extension, an IDT instrument that will be a port (complete or partial, we don't know yet) of their Emotional Piano library. No other information or picture is available yet, but the device should nowadays be available pretty soon, according to the email they sent to joeyluck!

- Quadelectra's System 9 Pattern Sequencer

A picture of what will very likely be Quadelectra's next Rack Extension, System 9 Pattern Sequencer, has been published on the Reasonistas Facebook page. No detail from Quadelectra has been published yet, but this device will be some kind of sequencer with performance possibilities. Here's the picture posted on Facebook (thanks to dreampolice to have reported it!).

And yes, that's it for now! As I told you, that list is short. But, well, January has never been a very active month in the RE world... So, have I forgotten something? :)

Great to see you and this thread here Electrochoc, a favourite tradition it has become for many of us!

I'm super excited to see a new device from Jiggery Pokery, blown away by his devices so far.

Revolution,
Could it be a mic/amp modeling which has been missing from the RE for quite a while?

New video with some more details, tuned percussion is something I wanted / needed for a long time so this might be a no-brainer just have to wait and see what decision was made on the price point.

kiloHearts also confirmed on their Facebook page that they'll be releasing some of the modules from their upcoming VST as individual rack extensions...

Was there something subliminal in JP's video? Why am I making popcorn?
Who’s using the royal plural now baby? 🧂

Thanks for sharing! I didn't saw that at all! I won't add it to the list though, because, as of now, it sounds more like an "intention" to make some REs out of MultiPass than a project coming anytime soon. But I will definitly look at kiloHearts medias for any new info about those RE-modules! :D

By the way, this is one of the reason I like making those threads: they incited other users to share what they read or found that I haven't seen myself! :D

Yes I will! This is indeed very interesting news! When I discovered SoundIron (it was when they released their first ReFills), I've checked their other products, and instantly wished they would release more Reason-related products in the future. Knowing that they will take the IDT-Rack Extension path is very promising! :D

awesome news.. but i am hoping first for the rather unique disperser. I spoke to the dev a while back (maybe 3 months) via email and he said it was indeed on the cards so i think that may be next.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the Arp 2600 Blue Meanie at :45 in the Republik teaser? Is this a future RE or just a mockup?
