I saw this image on JP`s Twitter today. He posted to images in the same topic on his FB. I would say this is an IDT based percussion RE however I might be wrong at it will be using synthesis.

Cool! Will it involve banana-powered percussion?

That would explain everything! In the last weeks, a couple of seemingly random pictures appeared on Jiggery-Pokery's Facebook page (see below). So it seems it was to tease us and advertise about an upcoming "junk"-beat IDT RE!

On OP's picture, we can clearly read "Cowbell" on the top left and "Household Mix" on bottom right... Everything points out to a "junk"-percussions RE. An other argument for me in favor of upgrading to a newer version of Reason! :D

Well spotted! Republik is now entering final stages of beta, and release is expected some time next month.

The instruments you can see in the advert linked above are

Cowbells, Thunder Drums
Nut Shell Shaker, Cabasa
Latin Mix, Folk Mix
African Mix, Household Mix

There are 60 instruments, covering a variety of African, Latin and folk handrums, guiros, jingles and shakers, as well as an assortment of household percussion items including a selection of power tools. Four extra "Mix" instruments are a single-sample compilations of ten of the individual instruments. The individual instruments are stereo multi-sampled with up to six round-robins and different hits and shakes, as well as the really cool ability to set single mapped samples pitched across the keyboard, in classic vintage sampler fashion. The stereo samples are switchable to mono. Amongst the c.3,500 brand new hand-edited samples, yes, I wasn't joking in a different thread, there is indeed a kazoo.

I'm sorry, we have no bananas, but there is pineapple for all! ;)

Nice! It´s so handy to pick a RE-instrument like this, than digging around in old Refills. And those instruments is something neighbours would not like me to play late in the evening. Welcomed indeed.

Here's a first proper look at the interface.
  • Classic Latin, African and Folk small handheld percussion and tunable instruments, plus some household percussion, including saucepan drums and powertools!
  • 66 instruments (including 4 genre "best of" made up of 10 of the other single instruments)
  • Select stereo or mono samples
  • Most instruments feature 6 round robin samples for each of multiple types of hit for realistic behaviour; nearly 3,500 hand-edited samples!
  • Agogo Metal, Agogo Wood, Baoding Balls, Bodhran, Bottles Plastic, Bottles Glass, Cabasa, Castanets, Caxixi Double, Caxixi Large, Caxixi Med, Caxixi Small, Claves, Cowbells, Cutlery Drawer, Drill, Egg Shakers, Finger Jingle, Flexatone, Foot Jingle, Ganza, Guiro Metal, Guiro Wood, Hip Flasks, Jam Blocks, Jars, Jaw Harp, Jigsaw, Kalimba Alto, Kalimba Toy, Kazoo, Keyboard Stand, Maracas, Matchbox, Modern Studio Shaker, Monkey Drum, Mug o' Tea, Ndilli Ndilli, Nut Shell Shaker, Pandiero, Pineapple Shaker, Rainsticks, Reco Reco, Rocar, Samba Whistle, Sander, Saucepan Drums, Shekeres, Shoe Tap, Slapstick, Sleigh Bells, Spoons, Staple Gun, Tamborim, Tambourine Plastic, Tambourine Wood, Thunder Drums, Triangle, Vibraslap, Washboard, Windchimes, Wood Stirring Drum, Latin Mix, African Mix, Folk Mix, Household Mix
  • 11 reverbs
  • 3 methods of instrument selection (drag up/down on picture, up/down selector buttons (with wraparound!), and direct selection via pop-up box on front folded panel)
  • Separate tuning for separate bells of the multi-bell instruments (3- and 2-pitch Agogos, 2-pitch Jam Blocks etc)
  • All instruments can be switched to Solo Sample mode, where a choice of ten single samples is keyboard tracked across the keyboard. Play the Agogo as if it were a piano! Reduce or cancel keyboard tracking entirely. Additionally, several instruments feature layered solo samples or reversed samples in some of the Solo Sample slots.

This looks great. Have you settled on a price, yet? Not that I have any cash for Re right now. The last thing I bought was the BBD bundle, which I love by the way.

LOL "Mug o Tea" :)

This device is brilliant JP. Not only a good use of the IDT, but it seems it will become a "go to" for any perc stuff.

I really like it, can't wait to try! :)

I'm getting weak at the knees at the titles 'african mix' & 'latin mix'.

Cool! I'm curious to hear about the capturing process... Do you own all these instruments or did you borrow them to sample?

This one has been in the family since new and I've actually been meaning to sample it for a while now.

Must buy a washing machine at some point - It's not been kind to the other half's hands

I have done a few presets with Euclid and Ammo 100LA. It's mental :)
