I forgot to mention, I broke up with my tradition, and Pearls HAS a user guide.. ;)

You can find it here: https://tonicmint.com/wp-content/upload ... _1_0_0.pdf
Of course the user guide also available from the shop page:

https://shop-20220407094725533500000002 ... _1_0_0.pdf

Oh, i forgot to mention, in there are few tips and trick in the last chapter... ;)

I'm 100% loving this but this approach would have been welcome in the UI, as understanding this basic concept took me far longer than it should have IMO (or maybe I'm just getting old…):
That explanatory image with the interface zones came straight from the user manual :puf_wink:
Yes, and my suggestion is to reflect that in the UI as I showed in my post.

I got it Selig. I think you just have problem with this two buttons:

Their position seems a bit clunky at first, but in my point of view they are good (almost perfect). ;)
Yes, your suggestion is easier to understand. (and yes, this is an important aspect)
Most of decisions about the UI are conscious or compromise or both.

Please don’t take my suggestion as pretending to know better than you what works for you - it’s your device and I’ve simply expressed a different point of view. I don’t do this often as there is little point in trying to change minds, I just really like this device and wanted to share my experience with it!

Might try this one out.
Does anyone know how long the intro price will last?

No thanks. I bought it last week and haven’t had a chance to fire up Reason since that RE buying spree. Hoping to test drive it tonight!

Kinda weird that we're talking about [PSQ] in the Pearls thread, but I don't think for a moment that the two should be considered market competitors
Watching those videos was a “a-ha!” moment, and I don’t feel bad about looking into buying PSQ from this thread, considering I’ve already bought Pearls.

Can we get different note values for Cycle so we can have 1/8th and 1/16th note triplets, etc.? 2/8, 2/16?

Can Pearls do shuffle? I can't find it in the manual or any of the menus. If not, can it be incorporated in a future update? I find not having shuffle really limiting in a sequencer - of course I can send notes to track and do it there, but I usually piss about with a sequencer for ages before I'm ready to send notes to track

Evolution and Quad Note Generator weirdly don't have shuffle mode either. At first I thought it might have something to do with shuffle being difficult to implement in a Euclidean rhythm generator. But then I realised Euclidean Rhythms has shuffle. I want it!

QNG can Shuffle, using the Global Shuffle setting. At least, I'm assuming it's the Global Shuffle setting. The manual doesn't specify (thanks Props!).

Ahhh yeah of course, there it is. Not in Evolution though, or Pearls apparently. I want it!

I'm with you. Every sequencey device needs swing options.

Is Pearls a replacement for Euclid?

That's not a timing shuffle; that's shuffling the note order - ascending, descending or randomly mix up the order (aka shuffle). A timing shuffle, which is what the users above are asking for, would appear on the left side of the device.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

Yes but again, that's a spatial shuffle, not a timing shuffle. Both instances of shuffle you've given are "shuffle" in the sense that someone shuffles a deck of cards, i.e. reordering. I'm talking about "shuffle" in the sense of swing or groove, the uneven placement of subdivisions within the beat. Same word, two different meanings

I mean the far left (left 1/3 of the player). The menu you found is for the "pearls" in the sequencer (the dots). Did you try it to see what it does? It shuffles the dots around, it doesn't shuffle the timing.

This kind of shuffle what are you asking for guys isnt planned (yet) for Pearls.
It is not impossible, but not as obvious here (and could be confusing in various situations)

Otherwise check the "Euclidean Swings" folder in the factory library, there are some special cases of shuffle, when the shorter and longer duration ratio is made by small integer numbers.

And dont forget, you can send to track your Pearls composition anytime, and you can use "Groove" on it for shuffle.

Reading this post convinced me to buy it. When the developer replies to questions, it's a big plus to me. This looks very interesting. My wallet was softly crying from oh-no-not-another-purchase syndrome, but I just raised the volume of my RE instruments.
