Is there an alternative to Peff Spacre? Like a free one, because charging £8 is a piss take. The roll of tape I use on my mixer costs less than that.

Selig and Jiggery Pokery.

There’s 3 JP ones. Different sizes.

Here’s a link to what I think was the first one. Remember there was a big hoo hah on the PUF cos he was charging for it. Hahaha. That’s why Selig and JP made free ones.

If you just wanna keep project notes, lyrics, and similar VST Notepad is free and excellent:

It's no good for labelling/separating stuff in the rack but it will hold as much text as you want and is a great way of keeping the notes with the project.

Yeah that's what I use but should be one built in in this day 'n' age. You can only view that in the rack for a start which is ok but I wanna be able to to view it in the sequencer with all 3 windows detached.

Steal an actual notepad from work!

Be warned it'll require supplementary hardware (they're called pens).

Absolutely my choice.
Also stealing from work is an unwritten part of a job description.

I agree 100%. In Studio One you can add notes to the whole song and also to every track, mixer channel, physical input and physical output, and probably to other stuff I don't know about. Each not can be a one-liner or a whole essay or anything in between. Cubase is similar and I think Logic is too.

I used to keep notes and lyrics in a text file in the same folder as the project but I haven't used paper and pen since the days of cassette portastudios!

Yeah you can cook toast on a fire with a 2 pronged fork as well but in the 21st century, most people would opt for a toaster.

I dunno. I think you're gonna struggle to get a decent slice of toast waving a toaster at the fire.
