Free-VST "Airwindows Strip Club" Combinator

"Airwindows Strip Club" combines Airwindows´ "CStrip", "Baxandall", "MackEQ", "Channel9", "Purest Air" plug-ins.

For a properly working "Input"-knob Strip Club requires Aftermath Audio´s free Rack Extension "CV8X4 CV Generator".

Every section can be turned on/off individually.
High-res background.

Manual:

Strip Club is originally ment to run on a single channel, though it also works very well on busses or even masters.

Strip Club contains (from left to right):

- a channel strip including a gate, a compressor, a low-pass filter, an EQ, a high-pass filter and a Time Lag parameter (delaying the signal slightly) (CStrip)
- a Baxandall EQ (Baxandall)
- a Mackie Distortion with a treble/bass EQ (MackEQ)
- several Console channel op-amps including a "Drive"- parameter (Channel9)
- a high frequency boost plus a high frequency limiter (Purest Air)

"Channel9" is being followed by "Purest Air" for potentially reintroducing high frequencies (air) after being cut off by the console section.

The signal path follows along yellow arrows throughout every section from left to right. Influences are aswell pointed out by yellow arrows.
The yellow-squared 0-point markers indicate the neutral knob setting, saying, if all knobs with an indicator are set to this value when sections are being turned on, the input sound equals the output sound. The only exceptions are "MackEQ" and "Channel9" where a slight coloring is happening anyway whensoever activated.

The manually added "Input" at the very left is a self-compensating input gain, saying, if you turn the input up it is turned down after passing the gate by the same amount and vice versa, indicated by the up/down arrows. So you won´t notice a difference in volume levels, yet it has an effect on the gate.

The self-compensating input gain is +/- 24.02 dB and the output gain is +/- 18dB.

The CStrip EQ ranges are +/- 12dB.

The Baxandall EQ is +/- 15dB with an according +/-15 output compensation.

The two "Gain"s in between (one after "CStrip", one after "MackEQ") are +/- 18dB. These two gains have been added manually for gain staging purposes where the VST didn´t include anything alike. They also work well to boost the input gain into successive sections).

The "Output"s after "Baxandall" and "Channel9" are included in the VST. There is no specific value range on "Channel9"´s output given because the VST uses a generic unit from 0-1.Same goes for "Purest Air"´s and also "MackEQ"´s parameters.

The "Mix" parameters after "MackEQ" and "Purest Air" are aswell included in the VST.

TIP: To boost Mids on the Baxandall + MackEQ turn down treble + bass by the same amount and compensate with the "Output"/"Gain" parameter accordingly.

For a detailed description of every section you can check out Airwindows´ website through the links given.

P.S.: It´s pretty CPU-intense if all sections are activated. Around 160 percent of Softube´s TSAR-1.

Just Awesome.
When I first heard about Combinator II, one of my first ideas is that it would be a great way to integrate some of the left of field plugins like Airwindows right into the Reason rack.
Evidently, I was far from alone in that idea.
This is superb. Very inspirational

Thank you :-)
Yes, I just found to combine Airwindows plug-ins into one device to be very much fun because besides translating a VST into the rack like done before with the free Valhalla plugins it offers the possibility to bascially create new devices with new possibilities. Most of it would have already been possible in this case if you linked the according plug-ins in series, then having all in one spot, aswell learning the newly created device, getting to know how it works and how the chosen plug-ins interact plus adding handy features lifts it beyond what it was before.
Very much looking forward to a new creation regarding the combination of Airwindows plug-ins in one Combinator :-)

Thank you, you are welcome :-)
Would be interested in how you find it working in your productions if you use it because I was quite pleasantly surprised how good these plug-ins sound. The MackEQ distortion sound is pretty sweet, though I bascially like every section, especially when used in series.

Btw the gate reacts to L+ R seperately, making glitchy gated panning-like effects possible.

Here´s an example:

And the gate is pretty fast + surgical aswell.
