Hello All,
This is a work in progress, but I wanted to share a quick hack to layer text inside Combinator 2 buttons that can be applied in some cases.
What I did is place the "Big Black fader" in front of a button to have its"Mute" label sit inside the button below the fader labeled "Inv". I then added a second button below and behind the first button to show the "Inv" text from that button. The second button is nearly at the button of the combinator so its label is not necessary and turned off. The cool thing here is you change the mix channel's label from "Mute" to say "Kick", "Lead", "Hat" or any short word that fits inside the button to customize the 6 mix channel button labels, which serve as a channel mute button.
Hope this is helpful for all Combinator 2 enthusiasts.

Nice hack, but I wonder if it will keep working whenever they update the combinator with new assets or features.

Thanks. I'm trying to make them look like an alternate Reason universe

This is a temporary hack until RS adds the ability to add text inside buttons. Ideally we should also be able to change the size and color of lamps and buttons.

Do you mean the Mute and Inv buttons as in the hack?Reasonistas wrote: ↑03 Oct 2021Thanks. I'm trying to make them look like an alternate Reason universe![]()

I meant making the Combinator backdrops look almost identical to the native devices.Creativemind wrote: ↑04 Oct 2021Do you mean the Mute and Inv buttons as in the hack?Reasonistas wrote: ↑03 Oct 2021

Yes, it's not ideal for assigning control or automation labels. Hopefully this feature will be added in a future update.RandomNoise wrote: ↑04 Oct 2021ah! that's a clever hack!it might be confusing on the automation labels though

Cool hack, yes. Advice for anybody using this hack: change the names of the buttons AFTER you are finished programming the Combi. Otherwise, it will be way too confusing.
