i like this as a workflow idea for Phrase by ReTouch. the faders control the start and length of the 4 pattern variants and the 16 knobs have global transpose over the 16 steps

alternatively, a version using 4 switches to select the variant and a knob for each variants direction

i prefer the look of the vintage xxl knob and you kinda want to double tap the buttons to avoid confusion but on the other hand it can be more precise timing wise

SHARND is workflow for RND by Lectric Panda
it uses some CV trickery from
Shades and Ranger from Tonicmint
Equation Jnr from the Chronologists
RVL-1 by Pepin Hazan
SHARND.JPG
SHARND - Bes.zip
the XPND section applies variation to notes,
Top row = how many (full left is off)
Middle row = interval size (1semi - octave)
Bottom row = direction
- Knob = up/down/pendulum sharp/pendulum soft
- Button = up/down

i could use some of the leftover buttons to add variation for velocity

Dynamic Mono Arpeggiator uses the RPG-8 to trigger an Envelope from Pulsar that is scaled down using Lectric Panda's CV Janitor and fed back into the speed of RPG-8. Pulsar LFO1 can also be used to modify the Velocity. Grab the Gate, Note and extra Env CV output from the CV Spider at the bottom of the stack

Leuper PJ's combines a Euclid from Robotic Bean and an AS-16 from DLD Technology
it also uses a Now from the Chronologists to restart the Euclid pattern every 4 pads
Leuper PJs - bes.JPG
for each of the 16 sequencer steps the blue buttons set a Pad, red buttons set a Jump, rotaries set the note value. the grey rotaries in the centre effect the rhythm and range of the notes. tp change the scale and key you must do so directly on the AS-16

This one is for fun, all the sound design was done in the cheap earbuds that came with my phone but it's all yours now so tweak as you please. I needed a project to dig into the new Mimic sampler and i wanted to break away from creating combi's with plain colours so here it is, the Mystery Machine!

MM.png
Mystery there are no labels on the controls Zoinks!
the incoming notes are broken into octaves C1-B1 are beat slices
sliders 1 2 & 3 control the Release of the Amp Env for the 3 single sample Mimics. each of those is bound to its own octave C2-B2 / C3-B3 & C4-B4.

the samples are all cut from the first episode of Scooby Doo Where are You? 1969

4x8 QSV - Bes.png
4x8 QSV devices - Bes.png

4x8 Quantized Stepped Values is a tool built for automating pattern changes from within the rack but it has as many uses as you can think of for 4 channels of 8 customizable cv values, quantized (or not) to the reason sequencer that can be stepped (linked or individually) via gate or midi or tracked by LFO or manually selected via the knobs on the front panel. all tucked away inside a 1U combinator :)

default values work for Drum Player, Kompulsion and Sequences. thats all ive tested so far

take the CV thru from any of the 4 channels of the Skope M4 (Visual Out) and route it to a combinator CV in unipolar mode. then assign that input to pattern select for the desired sequencer

QT knob will select Time quantization, fully Left = 1bar, fully Right = off
Reset Step will constrict all channels to Stage 1 when on and release them in sync when off
use the CV8x4 (Set Values) to customize your own CV destinations RVL-1 (Monitor) the displays can be changed to show note value if you wish.

to step through the stages linked, any gate or midi sent to the combinator will do
to step through the stages individually, route a gate or trigger to the desired Thor units step trig input
to select a pattern manually turn the desired knob on the front panel, manual override selects all channels
to track through the stages via LFO, connect the LFO cv to the desired channels knobs input on the back panel
. note: the combinator will always respond to the most recent method of selection

rack structure.png
RACK STRUCTURE is a single gate sequencer with a variable total length of 16 - 64 bars. i built it because not using the main sequencer is my bullshit and with it i can activate or silence other sequencers/instruments/effects/modulations to arrange song parts from within the rack

it outputs a CV signal of 1 for the activated partitions and 0 at all other times.
open up the devices and grab any cv out from the topmost RE

i was mostly able to use free RE's but i could not have done this without the CV Suite from TonicMint. in particular the patch requires CV Ranger and CV Witch

Already recorded a little sequence, possibly gonna post a result.

Here we go :-D Just jammed along and cut MIDI-lanes together. Quite experimental so to speak :-D

Btw would you mind if I post it on the Reason Rockers discord server in the Combi 2 section?

Thank you :-)
Yes, I enjoyed playing with it quite a lot as it´s quite versatile in its outcome while being pretty experimentational.

rack structure v2.png
i replaced the guts of v1 with a single AS-16 unit and then i added another parallel as16 to output a cv signal for pattern selection or modulation or note progression etc

an added benefit of the dual as-16s is looping different metric lengths. the gate loop will always be 16 stages at its default setting the floating cv will loop the first stage, indicated by the active green square. this is to allow you to quickly set the global roof and floor of the signal. with no green squares active the loop will return to 16 stages. both loops will realign at stage 1 everytime you restart the reason transport.

open the devices to grab the gate from the first as16 and the floating cv from the cv ranger

pow((1-K),3)*A + 3*pow((1-K),2)*K*B + 3*(1-K)*pow(K,2)*C + pow(K,3)*D

alternatively, copy paste the above equation into a Tinker. ABC&D are your points and K is the curve

with Practical Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 10
summed, you can make any value (up to 22)

introducing the 4x Stepped Practical#Calc
Screenshot 2023-05-22 141740.png
this patch does not need
Compare CV Scope
CV_Quant_Free
Divisor
SW4-C

the summed values of each Calc will be available from the bottom row of Front-8
formatted as either Integer (0, 1, 2 etc ) or coarse percentage (0, 10%, 20% etc) of CV up to 220%

default steps between values every Bar as driven by Divisor
