I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the Dr. Octo in the rack to behave the way it does in standalone.
The Beauty of this device is the way you can load a patch or collection of rex2 files 'copy pattern to track' each one and then have fun moving the midi regions around and still have them trigger the original loop slot they came from. That's the whole point!! (also being able to edit volume etc as midi)

The rack version with its 'drag and drop' change from 'copy pattern to track' seems to make sense and works WITH ONE SLOT but after that it's complete chaos. It's like the DAW doesn't know what to do. Copy all 8 slots and it will play them all the same or worse. Automation by region doesn't seem to work at all. Whole track automation seems to almost get it, but move the region and it all goes to hell. Try using TWO Dr. Octo's and the DAW just completely melts down.

Loading up a Dr. Octo, copying the slots (red dot yes) and playing with the puzzle pieces has been a foundational workflow for me in Reason for years. Hard to believe I'm the only one, yet can't find a reasonable internet tutorial or explanation anywhere.
Not being able to do this defeats the whole purpose of even having it in the rack. Id rather have the old rewire method back where I could sync the whole program . OCTO REX NEEDS A SEQUENCER that it can talk to.

Is there something I'm missing here?? or is it just the way it is, if I want to use Dr. Octo Rex to its full potential I have to work in stand alone? I haven't experimented with Redrum patterns yet but I have a feeling it might be the same.

Any insight or help on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA

ps. using Reason 13, Logic 11 and the latest Pro Tools
