Ghost Signals

I just got reason 12. When I load old sessions, and try to add an instrument, the mixer board generates a pulsing signal on the new channel/instrument without me pressing any midi triggers. How do I make this stop?

Apologies in advance - I have so many questions:
Where exactly are you seeing this signal (Mixer Board is potentially huge). Pulsing signal how exactly (how fast, how loud/high, what meters)? Transport playing or not playing? Signal getting to main meters? Signal getting to speakers/phones? What does it sound like? Does it happen every time? What instrument did you add (did you try any others)? Got screen shots or audio/video examples?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but without specifics this will be a difficult issue to troubleshoot IMO. Can you describe exactly the steps to recreate this situation?
