Have any feature requests? No promise they'll get to Reason Studios, but you can still discuss them here.

Reason 12 updated or Reason 13 needs to come with AutoSave. I'm working on a project and it just crashed & once I restarted Reason of course it didn't save my last changes. This is ridiculous if you're going to give us BUGS with every update from now on at least give us AUTOSAVE...Okay I'm done with my rant :( :reason:

No autosave and markers in 2024: Thats just a - I am sorry for harsh words - terrible marketing for the Reason Studios company. Worse than any failed marketing video or failed post on social media, worse than any bad licencing decision. It's also a bit of a slap in the face for all the loyal customers who have been asking for these little features for decades. :(

Your rant is totally justified.

blocks are even better than markers imo because its color coded. you don't even have to use the block to use it as a marker

Locators/selectors are even better than blocks and markers IMO!

Anyway. No. It will never happen.

I'm a wicked CMD / CTRL + S person... I must have done it over a million times and the keys are soooooo close to one another... I can not think of not doing it. It is now instinct for most of all the applications I use. Once you try it, you may be hooked!

Oh and the extra bonus is... instead of waiting 2, 5, 10 minutes to let an application autosave, you can just CMD / CTRL + S again and again and again and you're more or less safe. There might be the odd time when the fingers just can't make it to the keys before the application crashes, but for most of the time, you could easily recover your project almost completely intact.

I'm also wicked with Control/S every time I make a change but if Reason suddenly CRASHES it doesn't matter how often you save or how fast you are with Control/S it may or may not have saved your last changes. And if you just recorded a Killer Vocal Take that you can't duplicate AUTOSAVE just makes sense especially if these BUGS aren't going away no time soon...

Saving currently blocks the UI and can take quite a while to complete, especially when using large multi-sampled NN-XT patches.
Agreed that auto-save would be nice, but they'd need to improve saving in general first.

maybe youre right, but in terms of marketing and international reputation it doesnt matter if those "blocks" are are good or bad workaround.

So is Auto-Save ever going to be a feature? The amount of hours of lost work is astonishing when working in this DAW.

Yes it becomes muscle memory to ctrl-S.... But every so often when you're in the grind in the studio, on a tight deadline, it can slip. Speficially, if you ever swap sync modes, or audio devices, it's a full blown roll of the dice if Reason is going to freee or not.
