Linear phase in Spectral EQ Window/SSL EQ Section?

I'm just wondering if there is any info on possibly adding LP in these sections, especially because I use these areas so heavily. There is just a lot of inclusion of Linear Phase ability on many EQ plugins these days because they say equalization shifts the phase. I wonder perhaps maybe it's not so important in the sense that could it be possible that these phase shifts are so minor it's barely audible? Perhaps that could be a "reason" that Reason hasn't included it?

Linear phase EQ comes at the cost of pre-ringing (sadly there's no free lunch here). So it might not exactly be what you'd really like:

Tbh there has been many times where I forget to enable Linear Phase in plugins that have them, even on the master chain, but the music still sounds great. I don't know a great deal about phase issues, I know the basics like opposite waveforms causing phase cancellation and equalization among other effects causing phase shifts, but I feel like there are phase shifts happening all throughout any song because there are different instruments, synths, etc involved together which all have their own frequency range or fundamental, therefore each has different wavelength, lower frequencies are longer and higher up gets shorter. So perhaps phasing issues only really matter when you're recording something with multiple mics and then need to align the waveforms in post. Otherwise perhaps there is no point to this linear phase stuff in plugins? Possible snake oil? Am I on to something? What do ya'll think?

Linear phase is superior when it comes to multi-band processing, or maybe M/S HP filtering.
If pre-ringing happens, then it can only be eliminated when cutting it off, such as with a one shot sample, or slices (rex loops for example).

All EQs work by shifting phase, even linear phase. It’s just that linear phase EQ shifts the ‘time’ to get the phase shifts aligned, causing huge (relatively) delay and pre/post ringing. Linear phase as such cannot be done in the analog domain, so if you’re going for a classic sound (aka, just about anything recorded in the last century) it’s analog (minimal phase) EQs all day long.
That said, I’ve not found a use or need for linear phase EQ in any of my work to date. I would think that mastering would be the best use for linear phase EQ, and possibly parallel channel EQ if your delay compensation can keep up with the EQ’s delay!
This explains the pros/cons pretty well IMO:
