I/O display - the real way!

I am waiting for this one so dearly, and - IMHO - it should be a no brainer anyway:
an easy way to assign meaningful names to audio-channels I/Os.

I can't wrap my head around the fact we're on iteration 12, and there is still no way to easyly edit I/O names...
