Length setting for Auto Audition in Browser

I usually have Auto Audition toggled off because I'll often land on a long file (in which I have many) and it will play the whole thing unless I stop it.

I feel like it would be more convenient if there were a length setting for previewing. Or if 'Audition Audio File' was a menu item so I could assign it a shortcut.

Or is there a better workflow tip I'm overlooking?
