For all the new instruments and utilities that Propellerhead/Reason Studios keep introducing to Reason - most of which don't bring anything radically new to the game - I am amazed that they still haven't made Recycle part of the suite. The audio slicing functions in Reason just feel like a clunky, poor man's version of Recycle anyway.
I haven't upgraded from R10 to R11 because there simply isn't any real incentive to do so. I would consider upgrading if Recycle was included as part of Reason. I can't understand why it is still a standalone application at this stage of the game...
C'mon Propellerheads...
Why is Recycle still standalone?

Absolutely. And all those with a valid ReCycle license will get the upgrade to Reason 12 Suite for $1 as a reward for their loyalty to the company over the years.

I think ReCycle existing is the reason some audio features are not included in Reason 'cause they're in that and they want you to buy it such as:- tempo detection of audio and transient sensitivity which leads to me another couple of things:-
1) Has ReCycle changed to Reason Studio's ReCycle now?
2) They should include it in Reason as an 11 point update and have it pay what you want with it being free for all 11 and ReCycle owners.

Lol, pay what you want from X version to 11? Lol. Just include it in a point update and thus free for us but those on previous version should pay full price, why are you giving the upgrade plus recycle away now?Creativemind wrote: ↑10 Oct 2020I think ReCycle existing is the reason some audio features are not included in Reason 'cause they're in that and they want you to buy it such as:- tempo detection of audio and transient sensitivity which leads to me another couple of things:-

I only wish that ReCycle was more functional after converting wav files into rex2 files. I want to be able to use the rex2 files I convert from wav files into my DAW> The DAW that I use is called Sonoma Wireworks RiffWorks.

At this point in time, they need to just incorporate it. It will give Reason some better chopping functionality with probably not alot of effort on the Props part having to think of a new way to do something.
And Recycle hasn't been updated in years so it is probably best to just incorporate it in Reason.
That said the time has long gone. I'm sure the people who wanted this in like 2009 has moved on to different programs.

I've suggested before that they develop Recycle into a general purpose audio editor like Wavelab or Adobe Audition. But with features targetted at Reason users, like batch editing of files for NN19/NNXT/ReDrum/Kong, and a editor for adding metadata to audio files.
As it is Recycle doesn't provide much value as there is freeware software that can slice samples.

They could just make it free?
When you think about it, Reason Studios doesn't have anything for the desktop that is free to entice people to explore the brand more.
Even if Recycle isn't typically enticing for many people, they will come in the boatloads, because few people can resist those articles that announce that some piece of commercial software is now free. And even if it doesn't impress every user, you got them in the door and they should understand that it is free because it hasn't been updated in some time and it's a "legacy" product.

I'd like to see the sales figures for it over the last few years because I really cannot see it being much of a seller these days compared to back in the day, they really should just be done with it and fold it into Reason but as we know the 'props' make some really odd choices on certain things.

I would rather see it implemented in Reason 16, fingers crossed, than getting an offline free app now.

Just adding a sensitivity knob for audio slicing would be a meaningful update for Reason.

I stopped using Recycle in 2008... if it was made free perhaps I would have a try at it again...
I moved away from that workflow from so much time now I have completely forgotten how was used...
by that time I was consistently using Reason in rewire mode with Ableton...
I was still a pirate back then... except for Hammer... and Live 1.0 with Midi Out before midi out was a thing....
Ah... memories...
Recycle was cracked also I think... but now it's no longer avail. and I would never even try
download it again....(I don't have even a single copy of a cracked program in my SDs these days, maybe some DVDs...)
what was , version 2.5 already in 2008?? can't remember.
