Top feature request - Facebook Poll

Have any feature requests? No promise they'll get to Reason Studios, but you can still discuss them here.

So forum polls can be tricky because the options can't be edited (otherwise the results are reset). I can however increase the poll option limit before creating a poll, but a good amount of research and list building would need to be done before the poll is created, and there would certainly still be additional requests that pop up after a comprehensive list is made. We can look into this more.

There was also an attempt with a Google form poll, but that seems to have ended. And those are reliant on the creator to maintain and present the results.

So I thought I'd give Facebook polls a try. I know some people don't like or use Facebook, but a benefit of Facebook polls is people can add their own option(s).

I've created a ReasonTalk group, it is public, and unlike our Facebook page, it allows us to create polls. For this first poll, each voter can vote for or add 1 option. Unfortunately there isn't an option to set a limit when allowing multiple choices, and I think that can get out of hand and skew things greatly. So I think settling on your top pick for now will be best. Of course, after you vote for your top request, feel free to add other options to the list (you can add multiple options, but you can only vote for one option).

As features are added to Reason, we will retire those from the list and document each retired option's vote count and standing in the comments. And then those users can revote for their next most wanted feature. Of course, votes can also be changed at any time as well.

RULES
  1. You can select or add only 1 option. This may be tough for some of us, but the results may be a better representation. Again, there's no limit we can set if allowing multiple selections.
  2. When adding an option, please search the list first to make sure your option isn't already on the list. If there is an option you feel is too vague, please inquire in the comments and we can figure it out.
  3. When adding an option, please be concise, but descriptive enough to distinguish from other options. We will do our best not to spread results too thin (for instance people might have many different opinions of what they want in a Combinator update, but we can agree that they all fall under 'Combinator update.'
We only have the ability to remove options and not edit existing options, so please keep that in mind. I think this shows that this still isn't the perfect solution, but I feel like it has the ability to be more inclusive over our forum polls with the ability for voters to add their own option.

The group is public, but you will need to join to vote. Let me know your thoughts and we'll see how it goes! Feel free to comment on that post or here with any features you'd like to see added to the list. But again, the group is open for anybody to join to vote or add an option.

There's 16 users in that Group, so I'm not sure it's gonna be a very good sample ;)

Oh great! Last night it was just me, so sounds like it's going well :)

Also down the road, we could use this poll as the building block to create another poll here.

The group is public and anybody can join, but you do have to join to vote or add an option. Once you've done that, scroll to the bottom of the poll and you will see 'add option' and then you can enter 'Track freeze'.

What does that mean precisely?

What does that mean precisely?
Reason as DAW have many usable options for audio, but MIDI engine almost didn't change from first versions.
Moreover, something good was even removed, like the overdub/replace switch.
Incoming automation from MIDI input is ridiculously discrete.
Midi clips lack of comp mode or any way for normal loop record.
You can't send direct midi CC into VST wrapper, host controls only (excluding performance controls what you can't redirect in Combinator).
You cant receive any midi from VST wrapper.
Lack of punch record (optionally - retrospective record :))
But if you ask me which of all this is the most important, I will answer - midi comp mode, or just auto multi-lane for continuous midi recording in loop mode. Second deal - record midi CC as they come to the sequencer without decrease rate and "cleanup".

Ok gotcha. Yeah I think some of those could be separate items, unless they can be combined concisely.

Some examples are "Browser update (tags, improved search)" and "Improved cabling (highlight possible connections, double-click to create connections)". I just think that "extend MIDI support" would just be too vague.

But as a singular feature request, it could look like this:
- MIDI comp (automatically create new note lane when recording in loop mode)

I remember that one being a suggestion from wongothesane I believe. I agree that feature would be very useful.

I wish it from R1 :)
And was engaged of various crutches for this goal.

I added a feature to that Facebook poll. Probably my number 1 most wanted feature for Reason or 2 really in this case but Aliased / Linked / Pooled Automation and Clips.

Yeah that's true but it doesn't really affect me in anyway apart from the fact that you waste too much time scrolling through crap lol!

I wonder how many feature requests Reason Studio's get a week.

So what's the feature request e-mail address?

I want to request they add drag and drop audio from the host daw's arranger / sequencer functionality to the NN-XT, Kong, Redrum and Grain in the RRP.

VST3 would be my preference especially since I spent £26 on an effects unit that is only VST3 comapitable
