There was also an attempt with a Google form poll, but that seems to have ended. And those are reliant on the creator to maintain and present the results.
So I thought I'd give Facebook polls a try. I know some people don't like or use Facebook, but a benefit of Facebook polls is people can add their own option(s).
I've created a ReasonTalk group, it is public, and unlike our Facebook page, it allows us to create polls. For this first poll, each voter can vote for or add 1 option. Unfortunately there isn't an option to set a limit when allowing multiple choices, and I think that can get out of hand and skew things greatly. So I think settling on your top pick for now will be best. Of course, after you vote for your top request, feel free to add other options to the list (you can add multiple options, but you can only vote for one option).
As features are added to Reason, we will retire those from the list and document each retired option's vote count and standing in the comments. And then those users can revote for their next most wanted feature. Of course, votes can also be changed at any time as well.
RULES
- You can select or add only 1 option. This may be tough for some of us, but the results may be a better representation. Again, there's no limit we can set if allowing multiple selections.
- When adding an option, please search the list first to make sure your option isn't already on the list. If there is an option you feel is too vague, please inquire in the comments and we can figure it out.
- When adding an option, please be concise, but descriptive enough to distinguish from other options. We will do our best not to spread results too thin (for instance people might have many different opinions of what they want in a Combinator update, but we can agree that they all fall under 'Combinator update.'
The group is public, but you will need to join to vote. Let me know your thoughts and we'll see how it goes! Feel free to comment on that post or here with any features you'd like to see added to the list. But again, the group is open for anybody to join to vote or add an option.
