Here's an idea for those with too many toys and often times not knowing where to start...
Have Reason launch into random plugin toolbox/template mode. It would be used to force limitations; inspiring creativity through simplicity (you only have so much to choose from), helping users to rediscover some plugins, and used as a self-challenge.
When in this mode, you would then have only a handful of random instruments, effects, etc. available to you from the browser that you can load into the rack.
If that's too tricky to pull off, it could just be a random template of instruments and effects loaded into the rack via "New from Random Template."

I was wondering yesterday if there could be a way to pick a random patch (with the device that goes with it) among all installed REs (including ReFills) and VSTs (including patch banks) . The latter part could be harder to develop, but even a not-too-thorough version would indeed help with creativity.
Hey that's a great idea! This might go hand-in-hand with a capability of being able to set a default patch. But having it load a patch randomly upon each creation would be very cool, would help to discover patches, and remove some staleness.WongoTheSane wrote: ↑03 May 2019I was wondering yesterday if there could be a way to pick a random patch (with the device that goes with it) among all installed REs (including ReFills) and VSTs (including patch banks) .
