Fix shuffle ruining legato notes

Have any feature requests? No promise they'll get to Reason Studios, but you can still discuss them here.

Steps to recreate problem.

1.
Create series of 8 notes in a bar.
Use Tool window to set legato to side by side.
Plays fine.

2. Set groove to midi track and apply shuffle.
Some notes don't play, so you have to go in and manually shorten the notes.

This isn't a bug as such because if you go on to commit groove to track some of the notes actually are overlapping, so Reason is being logical.
However, it isn't being musical.
If I've set the notes to legato then Reason it would be more useful if Reason remembered that and slightly adjust the note length so that legato is preserved and all the notes play.

What I think actually is a bug though is this:

1.
Create series of 8 notes in a bar.
Apply groove to midi track.
Then set legato to side by side.

You get the same result.

In my book this means that the legato tool does not function as expected on tracks with groove.
If you apply legato, Reason should take account of the groove settings and give you the result you expect.

Agreed, this has been a thorn in my side for as long as the groove mixer has existed. It's a total pain, and totally needless.

YESSS. Each Regroove Channel should have a button that, when enabled, also adjusts the note length, depending on the shuffle value. (So it won't break older projects when disabled)

+1

This a great idea. In fact, do overlapping notes at the same pitch class ever need to mask each other? Can’t a new note-on event automatically end a previous note?
