Monophonic Quantization

Often when I quantize a midi clip, notes get stacked "polyphonically", when I absolutely do not want that to happen. It's such a hassle to go about deleting and moving around a ton of notes when you have - say - improvised with an instrument for 10 minutes and you want it to sound monophonic - like a solo on a brass instrument for instance - and monophonic mode is not an option for that particular instrument. Hence my request for an "intelligent", monophonic, quantization tool.
