It's likely a giant refactoring effort, which would probably make the overall code base more complex but would eliminate the one-offs the current native devices constitute.
The benefit (besides a simplified build process) would be much expanded capabilities for Rack Extensions.
It's likely the Props are working on this already, perhaps slowly, as a general clean-up effort.

Aah, now I get it, I know that practice but I simply couldn't decipher the sentences. They eat their own dogfood by making all their new instruments as REs but I see what he's getting at. Ultimately I guess this is exactly what they aim at. Not re-releasing their devices but making all that they can do possible for REs.illone wrote:It's a practice called "dogfooding" - use your own products.
