The EMI was created as a native device so it could access things REs can't, or else someone would have developed the same work-around a year before the Props finally added the feature to Reason.

I'm assuming you're using Essentials? Might as well upgrade to the full Reason if the EMI is a feature you really want/need. It'll never be an RE, because it violates the design philosophy of REs (accesses hardware directly).
